HOUSTON, TEXAS: Simone Biles drew flak on social media when she posted that she "needs a sugar daddy" despite being worth $16 million and having just returned from a lavish bachelorette party in Belize. One of the greatest gymnasts of all time, the 25-year-old recently admitted on Twitter that she requires assistance paying her "credit card statement." 

Following her bachelorette party, which saw her and her friends fly to Belize before Simone gets married to 27-year-old Houston Texans NFL player Jonathan Owens, who is worth an estimated $7 million. The star athlete asked for a "sugar daddy" to pay her expenses.

'You didn’t just marry one?'

Social media users criticized Simone, with many joking that the athlete's enormous wealth meant she had her own "sugar daddy." The tweet read, "I just checked my credit card statement, I need a sugar daddy lmao."

The bride-to-be's plea for someone to pay her bills received over 464,000 views and 374 retweets, and sent Twitter users into a frenzy. One user said: "Aren’t you your own sugar daddy by this point?" Another person wrote: "Lmao Simone, aren't you getting married?" "You didn’t just marry one or are you the sugar momma?" commented another Twitter user. "When your credit limit is more than my salary... oof lol," penned one person. Another user said: "People earning a fraction of what you are worth don't need to read comments like that Simone!"

Biles had a lavish bachelorette party in Belize

Three weeks ago the Olympic gold medalist had a lavish bachelorette party in Belize with her closest friends. Before her wedding to the NFL star, she offered her fans an inside look at her party. 

Before she tied the knot with the 27-year-old Houston Texans NFL player, Simone and one of her closest friends had a joint pre-wedding party, which they dubbed the "bach and boujee" party. In her Instagram Story, Simone gave her followers a sneak peek at all the fun, starting with a Boomerang of her and her pals holding their passports in preparation for their trip abroad. Captioning the series of snaps, "The one where I'm the bride," the gymnast posed beside bridal-themed decorations and goodies, including a sash that read 'Future Mrs Owens.'
