Silento charged with murdering cousin and 3 other felonies, trolls say he 'hit nae nae too hard’
Looks like the legal troubles for rapper Silento got worse as he was indicted on four felonies after first getting arrested in February for allegedly murdering his cousin. The four counts include one count of malice murder, one count of felony murder, aggravated assault, and gun possession during the commission of a felony. Silento is best known for his 2016 viral hit ‘Watch Me (Whip/NaeNae)’ which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
According to TMZ, Silento, whose real name is Richard Lamar “Ricky” Hawk, was indicted by a grand jury in Georgia for the murder of his cousin Frederick Rooks. The DeKalb County Police Department had posted a tweet about the same when the 23-year-old rapper was arrested in February. “Today, Ricky Hawk, 23, was arrested for the murder of his cousin Frederick Rooks, 34. On January 21, the DeKalb County Police Department investigated Rooks' death after he was found shot on Deep Shoals Circle. Hawk is in the DeKalb County Jail charged with Murder. #WeAreDKPD” Speaking of rappers getting arrested, hip-hop artists like 9lokknine, Bandman Kevo, and a member from DaBaby’s entourage Wisdom Awute were arrested recently for different criminal activities.

Rapper Silento gets indicted on four felony charges
The new documents were obtained by TMZ that shed light on all the four felonies. Speaking of the rapper’s murder case, AJC (Atlanta Journal-Constitution) had reported that cops had responded to shots fired on January 21 around 3.30 am in the Panthersville area where they found his cousin Rooks dead at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds, as revealed by DeKalb police Lt Rod Bryant.
Silento’s manager Chanel Hudson had also taken the help of social media back then citing that the rapper’s mental health condition was not in a good state. Seeking help on Instagram, she stated, “Please send my client Silento some positive vibrations. Over the past several years, Ricky has been suffering immensely from a series of mental illnesses.” She continued, “We will continue in his efforts of treatment, but we ask in the meantime the public uplift him and his family in immediate prayer & positive energy!!” Hudson concluded, “Ricky is a beautiful soul, and we hope that the same people who came up whippin’ and nay naying with him, continue to support him and lifted in prayer. God bless.” Silento is currently being held without a bond until his court date.

Despite being indicted for murder, social media users did not hesitate to troll Silento. One user while referring the rapper’s 2016 banger stated, “Do you think they make Silento whip and nae nae in prison?” Whereas, another stated, “They must also charge him for falling off harder than anyone.” One user added, “Not sure why street cred is more important than having a long fruitful life in society.”
The next one posted, “Them guns not a joke shoot the fade and be free! use the gun in a life or death situation young kings learn from this.” Meanwhile, one shared, “Really thought he was whip his way outta this one.” And, another tweeted while joking, “This man hit the nae nae too hard.” One person posted, “#Silento a murderer? Artists need to protect their mental health. Brings a whole new meaning to the Nae Nae.” And, another concluded, “Silento really ghosted the world just to come back with four felon charges ....damn praying for him.”
