'She wouldn't know hardship': Internet backs Whoopi Goldberg as she mocks Ivanka Trump's 'child care issues' excuse to delay testimony in dad's trial
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: 'The View' host Whoopi Goldberg, alongside co-hosts Sara Haines and Ana Navarro, called out Ivanka Trump for her "insulting" and "tone deaf" attempt to postpone her testimony in her father Donald Trump's $250 million fraud trial.
Ivanka reportedly claimed that taking the stand on her father's trial next week would cause her "undue hardship" due to "childcare issues," as per the Daily Mail.
The mother-of-three allegedly argued that her court attendance would be difficult as the testimony is scheduled in the middle of a school week. However, on Thursday, November 2, a New York judge rejected Ivanka's request to avoid appearing at the testimony.
Goldberg weighed in on the situation during the latest episode of 'The View' and sarcastically retold Ivanka's move to avoid testifying on the trial.

What did Whoopi Goldberg and her 'The View' co-hosts say about Ivanka Trump?
Speaking about the judge refusing Ivanka Trump's request, Whoopi Goldberg began, "A judge did not buy Ivanka's claim that she couldn't come to New York because of 'child care issues.' The judge was, 'I don't think that's going to fly, babe'."
"Ivanka gets no sympathy from me - and most American women and men who have to balance all sorts of duties," stated Ana Navarro, adding, "Girl, I fly back and forth between Miami and New York at least twice a week and I don't have a private jet or $2 billion from the Saudis. I think you can do it for one day."
She also mentioned, "There's women who show up to court pregnant, there's people who have to show up and balance work duties. She's got the means."
"She was at Kim Kardashian's birthday a couple weeks ago. She traveled all over the world when she was at the White House and the children were even smaller," added Navarro, subsequently inquiring, "Also, don't these children have a father that can take care of them on a school day?"
Sara Haines agreed with Goldberg and Navarro, saying, "When I saw this, I was like it's not jury duty. You're being subpoenaed by a court of law."
She went on to compare Ivanka's claim to a scene from '30 Rock', where Tina Fey's character, Liz Lemon, dressed up as Princess Leia in an attempt to avoid jury duty, stating, "You're not Liz Lemon looking like Princess Leia to get out of it. Any 30 Rock fans here?"
"All I could think about is the globe-trotting she did when she had her position in the White House. She would go away for seven to nine days," added Haines.
She continued, "She said she can't answer the subpoena because it's during the week of school. The kids go to full-time school, when she was traveling the world one of them was a one-year-old. I don't understand her reasoning. It's tone-deaf. It's insulting to say that."
Sunny Hostin also chimed in that the behavior was expected from a member of the "Trump family crime organization" and explained, "The one person that seems to be unscathed is Ivanka Trump. She's the one whose husband got the $2 billion, but it's never attributed to her - the $2 billion from the Saudis you referenced.
"She's the one that is not included in the lawsuit. She's the one, while working at the White House, made $172 million. She's the one that got over ten patents from China while she was working in the White House," added Hostin.
When a visibly shocked Haines asked how Ivanka was about to "make so much money," Hostin stated, "It's a great question, Sara. She's never been implicated."
She noted, "In a civil case you can plead the fifth because, if something you say can and will be used against you in a criminal case, you don't want to testify."
"If she testifies that she was somewhat involved in any way - we saw her on the apprentice. She was getting off the helicopter. She could say something that leads to criminal liability. That's why she's trying to be mother of the year," alleged Hostin.
Meanwhile, Goldberg claimed that Ivanka was able to avoid implication because she could be "kept out of everything" as the "favorite child."
Internet backs Whoopi Golberg and 'The View' on their comments about Ivanka Trump
Several social media users backed Whoopi Goldberg and her 'The View' co-hosts over their latest remarks on Ivanka Trump's attempt at postponing her testimony in Donald Trump's fraud trial.
"She wouldn’t know 'hardship' if it fell on her. Hardship=a single mother needing childcare while she takes 3 buses to get to her job at McDonald’s…deaf and blind elitist," wrote one user.
Another stated, "Ivanka's pathetic excuse to get out of testifying is testimony to growing up in a world where you believe you are above the law, and the law isn't doing much to change that opinion. If any of us did the things Trump did, we'd be rotting away in prison for years already!"
"As if her many nannies can not take care of her kids," mocked a person, while a user joked, "….it didn’t align with her surfing classes in Miami Beach. They have like, 3-4 nanny or domestic helpers, which I’m sure do 99% of the heavy lifting."
"Hardship? This is the definition of hardship: a condition that is difficult to endure; suffering; deprivation; oppression: a life of hardship. an instance or cause of this; something hard to bear, as a deprivation, lack of comfort, or constant toil or danger," noted one.

What did the judge say about Ivanka Trump's attempt to avoid testifying at Donald Trump's New York fraud trial?
Judge Arthur Engoron, who is overseeing Donald Trump's fraud trial case, ordered Ivanka Trump to testify even though her lawyers asked an appeals court to overturn the decision.
"Ms Trump, who resides in Florida with her three minor children, will suffer undue hardship if a stay is denied and she is required to testify at trial in New York in the middle of a school week, in a case she has already been dismissed from, before her appeal is heard," stated Ivanka's lawyer.
Judge Engoron pointed to documents showing ownership and management ties to justify Ivanka's inclusion in the case, highlighting the importance of her testimony.
He also rejected the motion by her legal team that sought a stay of his decision while Ivanka presents her appeals to a higher court.
