Camila Cabello fans troll Shawn Mendes for 'milking’ couple's split: 'This man is sick'

It has been close to four months since Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello went their separate ways after sharing a joint break-up announcement on Instagram. Shawn while reflecting on the same, shared a video on his socials where he confessed that he was on his own. In the newly-shared clip, the ‘It’ll be Okay’ hitmaker spoke about the lyrics of a song that we assume will be his upcoming single.
 
Social media users then dragged the singer on the Internet claiming that he was milking way too hard on the break-up and using it for his music. Others also claimed that the 23-year-old crooner took Camila for granted. Camila had also dropped a single a few days ago called ‘Bam Bam’ and looking at the lyrics, the fans were quick to point out that the song might have been about her former lover Shawn Mendes.

‘I'm on my own now’, confesses Shawn Mendes

In the clip, Shawn Mendes says, “A lot of the thing that also, like, is resonating in the lyric for me is, like, oh f-**k. You don't realize, like, when you're, like, breaking up with someone..you don't realize all the s**t that comes after it.” Further explaining in the video, the skilled crooner says, “Which is like, who do I call when I'm, like, in a panic attack, who do I call when I'm, like, f**king on the edge, like, you know?" Shawn added, “And I think that's the reality that kind of hit me. It's like, oh, I'm on my own now”, concluding, “Now, I feel, like, I'm finally, like, I'm actually on my own and I hate that ... that's my reality, you know?"
 
Calling it quits in November 2021, Camila and Shawn had released a joint statement on social media saying, “Hey guys, we’ve decided to end our romantic relationship but our love for another as humans is stronger than ever,” adding, “We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends. We so appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward. Camila and Shawn.”

Speaking of Camila’s song ‘Bam Bam’, she apparently spoke about Shawn as the lyrics go, “You said you hated the ocean, but you're surfin' now/ I said I'd love you for life, but I just sold our house/ We were kids at the start, I guess we're grown-ups now, mmm/Couldn't ever imagine even havin' doubts/ But not everything works out, no.”  Camila, however, in the interview with Lowe spoke about her feelings for Shawn. She reportedly said she loves Shawn, and only has love for him. She also added, “My priorities have fluctuated and my focus has changed throughout my life. Those years that we were dating, I don't even feel like, even while I was writing this album, and even still now, I guess, my focus is really on, how can I be a well-rounded person? And apart from my career, my focus wasn't even on my career.”

‘Shawn took Camila for granted’

Social media users mocked Shawn Mendes’ for his latest clip, as one of the users stated, “This man is sick, why does he think we women are a rehab center or something? shawn mendes is weird asf, poor camila i'm glad she's out of that toxic relationship.” Another stated, “Can I just stan Shawn and Camila in peace?”
 
One user posted, “Shawn took Camila for granted and now that she’s gone he regrets it. It shouldn’t take for someone to be moved on a happy for you to realize how much they did for you. Not even missing her, just what SHE did for HIM. She knew what she was talking about in Should’ve Said It.” The next one added, “I thought that was the plan! It’s time to go bea…I mean bird watching again!” And, one claimed, “He's pretty observant.” An individual shedding light on the same posted, “Just shawn using camila’s name for clout once again no surprise”, as another concluded, “He’s milking the hell out of his relationship for promo.”
