Toilet Timer by Katamco on 'Shark Tank': What is its cost, who are the founders and where to buy it
If you ever felt like your loved one spends more time in the bathroom than with you, then a pitch from the upcoming episode of 'Shak Tank' may interest you. For many people, a bathroom is a lot more than just a room to freshen up. For many, it's room to get away from the world and indulge in some alone time, for others it's a perfect space to showcase their hidden singing and dancing talents. Either way, there's no denying that many people spend way more time in this room than they probably should.
In order to ensure that people don't use the bathroom time for procrastinating or just getting away from everything, Adam Stephey and his wife, Katie came up with a unique solution to address it -- Toilet Timer. Through their company, Katamco, these entrepreneurs are selling a product that they claim will not only help you spend less time in the bathroom but will also be a great gift for anybody. Read on to know more about Katamco's toilet timer.
What is Toilet Timer by Katamco?
Toilet Timer by Katmaco is just a simple sand timer that's set for five minutes. This sand timer comes in a compact and sturdy packaging that allows the user to carry it with them to the bathroom, and set it up and go about their business. The timer gives the user five minutes to finish their job in the bathroom, and step out to spend time with their loved ones. The product's website describes the product as, "Toilet Timer by Katamco is a unique sand timer that runs for about five minutes. It helps poo-crastinators get back to the people they are trying to avoid. It's crystal clear, has high-quality printing, and allows the product to be set on a countertop or shelf, or hung on a hook. This is an interactive product and this packaging allows the customer to try it out and keep it protected."
Who are the founders?
Adam Stephey and his wife, Katie are the founders of Toilet Timer by Katamco. Prior to starting their Katamco venture, the duo created a premier line of cleaning products for vintage video games and systems, called 1UPcard. When Katie expressed her concerns over him spending too much time in the bathroom, Katie and he created and developed a prototype for Toilet Timer. After selling a few prototypes successfully, they decided to start a Kickstarter campaign. They managed to reach their goal in just 30 days, after their video demonstrating it went viral on Facebook. Now, Adam and Katie are ready to scale their business further and have turned to the sharks on 'Shark Tank' for help.
What is the cost?
Toilet Timer by Katamco currently retails at $14.99, and is available in four designs -- classic, dads, presidential, and feline.
