The tvN drama 'Record of Youth' has kicked off the release of its highly-anticipated soundtrack with 'Go' from Seventeen's Boo Seung-kwan. Noted for being one of the best vocalists of the current generation of K-pop singers, it's a given that Seungkwan would be a favorite for K-drama soundtracks, especially since many of them feature powerhouse vocalists and soaring ballads. But surprisingly, this is only Seungkwan's second soundtrack appearance, his first being on the soundtrack for the 2018 series 'Mother' in the song titled 'King Of Love'.

'Go' is the first song off the soundtrack from the South Korean drama 'Record of Youth', which stars Park Bo-gum, Park So-dam, and Byeon Woo-seok in a tale set in the modeling industry. Exploring the trials and tribulations of youth, the drama will follow the characters as they try to pursue their dreams amid a harsh and unforgiving world. The star-studded lineup for the show's soundtrack includes EXO’s Baekhyun, Chungha, Mamamoo’s Wheein, Kim Jae-hwan, Lee Hi, and J Rabbit.

That the soundtrack features an all-star lineup is not surprising given its music director is none other than Nam Hye-seung, whose catalog includes the soundtracks for hugely popular dramas like 'Goblin', 'Mr Sunshine', 'Encounter', 'It’s Okay to Not Be Okay', and 'Crash Landing on You'. Given his impressive work thus far, it is expected Nam will deliver yet another stunning record with the soundtrack to 'Record of Youth' and going by the gorgeously soothing 'Go', this is a promise Nam will live up to. Fans naturally commended Seungkwan's vocals, stating, "YES SEUNGKWAN KING." The song is already making waves on the charts, with fans declaring, "SEUNGKWAN BEST SINGER WBK," and stating, "SWEETIE YOU OUTDID YOURSELF AGAIN! WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU!!!!!!!"

Seungkwan's vocals have earned praise from all corners of the industry, including from Exo's Chen, himself hailed as one of K-pop's finest. One fan shared a clip of the singer commending Seungkwan's singing, stating, "Remember when they asked Chen 'Who are some vocalists out of idol singers you approve of' and he said Seungkwan.... as expected our Seungkwan is a really good vocalist, recognition? He deserves it." Another fan quipped, "I want to congratulate SEVENTEEN for being the only group to have Seungkwan."

For most fans, however, it wasn't just Seungkwan's vocals that left them floored. The unexpected English lyrics appear to be what hit them the hardest. Seungkwan expertly delivers several lines in a language that isn't his first, yet misses not one emotional beat along the way. One fan shared, "You reckon it is miracle, that all my efforts have finally paid off, and no one’s gonna let me know, I’ll make a way, my way my way my way, whatever you feel, it’s gonna be okay," adding, "Seungkwan’s English ;_; this part!!" Another fan said, "THE ENGLISH PART OMG SEUNGKWAN," and one tweet read, "Still can't believe the OST got lots of english lines, and Seungkwan just nailed it perfectly."

Several members of the Seventeen fandom, Carats, couldn't help but gush over Seungkwan's 'Go'. One fan shared, "I'm so proud of you Seungkwan, your voice is really good.. you sing with too much emotions and that's why your voice really fits OSTs... I'm sure there is more to come cuz who wouldn't want to work with someone as talented as you. You did great, Carats are so proud of you."
