Seventeen ‘;[Semicolon]’: Release date, tracklist, concept and all the hype around the K-pop band's special album

South Korean boy band Seventeen is all set to drop their special album in the form of ‘;' or Semicolon.’ The 13-member squad which is managed by Pledis Entertainment- a sub-agency of BigHit Entertainment, has been teasing about their new project for quite some time but they finally made it official with an announcement on Twitter.

They simply posted the name of the album in a 7-second video with the caption, “SEVENTEEN Special Album ‘; [Semicolon]’ Sequence of Youth”



 

The group’s innovative structure hinges on the interplay of three units—the hip-hop team led by S.Coups, the vocal team led by Woozi, and the performance team led by Hoshi. Living up to the title of “self-producing idols,” the “self-contained” and “self-empowered act” has become one of the biggest K-pop groups ever due to world-class synchronization, jaw-dropping choreography and tight teamwork.
 

Release date

The brand new album from the K-pop squad ‘; [Semicolon]’ will hit the Internet on October 19, 2020, and an online global press conference is also being planned on the same day just a few hours prior to the release.
 

Concept

From the day of the special album announcement, the official Twitter account of Seventeen has been dropping a lot of posts about their special photoshoot new album. The boy band has also released a teaser trailer for ‘; [Semicolon]’ which you can check out right here:

Tracklist


A black-and-white poster was dropped for the fans which included the official tracklist along with the details mentioned at the end of the poster. ‘; [Semicolon]’ will entertain the fans with a total of six tracks.  Here’s how the tracklist looks like:

‘Home;Run’
‘Do Re Mi’
‘Hey Buddy’
‘Light a Flame’
‘Ah! Love’
‘All My Love’
 
The lead single ‘Home;Run’ is a swing-genre based song combined with retro, rhythmic and cheerful sounds. Woozi, who is one of the important members of the group, contributed in both composing and writing the song, while Vernon and Seungkwan also gave their contributions in the lyrics.  

Apart from ‘Home;Run’ and ‘All My Love,’ the record includes various unit group songs. ‘Do Re Mi’ will see contributions from Seungkwan, Vernon and Dino. The8, DK and Mingyu have given their contributions on the song ‘Hey Buddy’ whereas, we will see Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo  and Woozi showing their skills on the track ‘Light a Flame.’ S.Coups, Jeonghan and Joshua will be seen on ‘Ah! Love.’
