LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: There's no denying the fact that M Night Shyamalan is one of the greatest minds in the world of cinema and television. He has directed some of the most popular movies, and in 2019, he created 'Servant.' Although 2019 might feel like a long while ago, 'Servant' concluded in March 2023, so it's fresh and lives rent-free in everyone's mind, because that's just how twisted and brilliant this series has been. Although there are no plans for another season at the moment, 'Servant' deserves to make a comeback, and the fans are happy to wait.

'Servant' presented itself with an ensemble cast that included Lauren Ambrose, Rupert Grint, Nell Tiger Free, Toby Kebbell, Tony Revolori, and Boris McGiver amongst others. Everything about 'Servant' was creepy, curious, and mysterious, and 40 episodes aren't enough, especially after how the series ended.

'Servant': How many seasons will Apple TV+'s show run for? Here's how long M Night Shyamalan wants it to be

What is the ‘Servant’ about?

‘Servant’ is a twisted story of a family that is dealing with the death of their newborn child, but in the most unconventional way possible. The mother hasn’t been able to deal or grieve with this death, so she was given a doll that would fill in the void for the time being. Unconventional is an understatement, but this seems fine until they decide to hire a nanny for the doll. As the nanny reaches their houses, things begin to take a twisted turn, when a real baby presents itself in the crib.

Dorothy, the mother, goes about life as usual, completely blocking out the memory of her child passing away as she holds this baby in her arms, as her own. The viewers are confused and conflicted for a lot of the episodes, unaware of who or what to believe. You’d think a premise like this would be a limited series, but in no time, four seasons passed by, and in a blink of an eye, it ended. The Turner family lived a semblance of happily ever after, but season 4 of ‘Servant’ had an open ending of sorts, which is why either a spin-off series or a next season is much needed for the fans!

How would ‘Servant’s story move forward

Several loose ends were tied in ‘Servant’ season 4, especially in regards to Leanna Grayson, the nanny. However, the series ended with Julian Pearce realizing that he was now unwittingly a part of the cult. In short, he was doomed. Was he now the angel? There are so many questions that need to be answered, just in regard to one character. Frankly, anyone would love to watch a spin-off series of ‘Servant’ with Rupert Grint as the lead character.

Grint has adapted several roles after his famous childhood and has become one of the most versatile actors in the industry. His character, Julian Pearce was a fan favorite, and that’s only one of the many reasons ‘Servant’ needs to be continued. There are very few series that push the boundaries between reality and the supernatural, in the most mindboggling way possible, and ‘Servant’ has done that every single season. Apple TV+ has produced some brilliant content in 2023, and we’re hoping this gets added to their 2024 or 2025 roster!

You can stream all four seasons of ‘Servant’ on Apple TV+.
