Seo Ye-ji officially apologizes for her scandals, trolls ask if it's an act to save 'Eve'
Seo Ye-ji had a tough managing all the media and public scrutiny into her after Dispatch, a popular South Korean news production company dropped some stunning allegations about her personal life. While she had to retreat from TV and medi, Yeo-ji finally released her first official apology addressing all her scandals. Could this act be because her new comeback series ‘Eve’ is en route, suspect some users on social media.
Ye-ji who is well-known for her ‘It’s okay to not be okay’ series, has been off the K-drama world for almost 2 years since Dispatch dropped the huge news. Apparently, her then-boyfriend, actor Kim Jung-hyun was under fire for treating girls’ generation idol and his series ‘Time’ co-star Seohyun badly. It was all later known that Ye-ji kept him under control and manipulated him to not be close with any female staff and colleagues. Following this, anonymous users popped and shared how Ye-ji used to bully them. When accusations started flying at her one by one, Ye-ji could not handle the pressure and so she deactivated her Instagram and retreated from the limelight. But in 2021, she updated on fan cafe saying, It’s a good feeling to know that there are people who believe in.” After this cryptic message in June 2021, she again disappeared. But now finally Ye-ji has come back with an apology that she took her good time for.

Ye-ji personally apologized
On February 27, 2022, Ye-ji’s agency posted an official apology statement in the morning. Following that, Ye-ji uploaded a personal apology for her fans and viewers where she, for the first time, acknowledged her hiatus and controversies. The statement by her agency, Gold Medalist, read: “Regarding Seo Ye Ji’s controversies, we sincerely apologize to the fans for causing concerns. As her agency, GOLDMEDALIST can assure you that Seo Ye Ji has changed from her past and will continue to strive to be better.” Following that, Ye-ji wrote, “Hello, this is Seo Ye Ji. First, I apologize it took me such a long time to share my thoughts in text like this. I’ve been thinking about the criticism that I received and the things that I heard. I spent time really looking back on my actions. I would like to sincerely apologize for the concerns I’ve raised with my immaturity. I’m deeply sorry for the huge disappointment that I’ve caused. It is my lack of professionalism that caused all of this. Therefore, going forward, I’m going to be on my best behavior and I promise that I’ll be more thoughtful and mature in the future.” As her words looked heartfelt, many viewers and fans gave her all the support through comments.
Is this just an act for her upcoming series ‘Eve’?
After the break, Ye-ji finally signed for a 2022 series, ‘Eve’ which will follow the life story of a girl who takes revenge for her father’s death. When the production team dropped the picture of the cast members, many fans of Ye-ji were extremely happy. But some people, after her first formal apology, trolls suspected it could be an act to make sure 'Eve' is not affected.
There were mixed reactions to her apologies. One troll wrote, “I’ve seen a lot of apologies these days from Korean artists and actors but this one from Ye-ji got to be the worst one lol 10 months later, and that’s the best her and her agency can do 😂." While another said, “Seo Ye Ji will always be an immature person! (which she admit it on her apology letter) We will never forgive you and your boyfriend what you two did to seohyun!”
But at the same time, some people were genuine enough to write, “She doesn't need to apologise to anyone except to those directly involved in the incident. That's her personal life. Dispatch should be the one apologising to her for ruining her career.” Well, to the previous tweet a user replied, “She managed to manipulate a grown man into making his coworkers' jobs a living hell. I dont think its personal when a handful of people are struggling because of her and him.” This shows that people aren’t that willing to forgive her, but here's a positive tweet from a fan that reads, "In all honesty yeaji didn’t have to apologise, her privacy was invaded & the opposing side made things clear that it wasn’t her fault. her choosing to release an apology now clearly shows that she didn’t see the need to defend herself back then." followed by this user's tweet “She didn't have to.. but that's my queen.” Though Ye-ji's audience are having mixed opinions, we sincerely hope that Ye-ji is not affected because of her scandals.
