Who is Selena: The Series' Christian Serratos dating? How she sparked romance with New Politics singer David Boyd
When you think Christian Serratos, the first thing that comes to mind is probably her role as Rosita Espinosa in AMC's 'The Walking Dead' or Angela Weber in 'The Twilight Saga' series or for music lovers, her work in Bryce Vine's 'Drew Barrymore' video. The stunning and talented actress is now set to play the iconic late Latina Tejano singer Selena Quintanilla in the upcoming Netflix release titled, 'Selena: The Series'. She also recently became a mother to a daughter with a boyfriend, lead singer, and guitarist of the punk/dance-rock band, New Politics. Who is David Boyd?
The singer is a Copenhagen native and is part of 2009 born New Politics along with Søren Hansen, and Louis Vecchio. Even though Hansen and Boyd began the band, Vecchio joined them in 2010 as a drummer. When they were recognized by the Danish National Radio P3’s competition, the band ended up signing with RCA Records. They have three albums under their belt titled 'New Politics', 'A Bad Girl in Harlem' and 'Vikings' and have also had the opportunity to open for big names such as Pink and Fall Out Boy. Reports also reveal that Danish-American Boyd used to be a breakdancer in the competitive field and had not only won awards but also worked in commercials. He apparently invented 'Boyding' which are customized headstands. There's a #boyding hashtag if you want to see pictures of the singer doing headstands in places such as Mount Rushmore - the headstands have now become kind of his trademark.
Boyd and Serratos have been dating since 2014, but news about how they met remains on the low low. The first time the actress made her belly bump public was in 2017. In March of that year, Serratos was set to have a baby with New Politics singer David Boyd, and on May of that same year, fans were able to see a picture of the couples' daughter on Instagram. An Entertainment Weekly interview with the actress also revealed that she had once killed Boyd on 'The Walking Dead' when the latter made a cameo as one of the walkers. For the fans wondering, that was the Season 7 episode, 'The Other Side', where Boyd chases Rosita and Sasha and ends up with a stab wound to his head. "I was like, well if we’re going to have him on the show, I need to kill him. So he was a walker in the episode with me and Sonequa, and I killed him," said the actress.
