Selena Quintanilla's Grammy Lifetime Achievement slammed for 3-sec tribute, fans say 'Latinos being paid dirt'
The 63rd edition of Grammys 2021 paid a tribute to Latin singer, Selena Quintanilla deemed as the ‘Queen of Tejano music’ along with awarding her a lifetime achievement award. But Latin fans have slammed the award ceremony for cutting the tributary segment too short, precisely for three seconds.
Grammys 2021 took place on Sunday, March 14 with a very limited audience consisting of the singers who could be present today. The tribute to ‘Tejano Madonna’ aka Selena Quintanilla made Latin fans looking forward to it as posthumous recognition of the top-selling Latin artist of the 1990s decade will only strengthen to prove the singer’s contribution to the Tejano genre.

Why fans slamming Grammys for tribute?
Fans took it to Twitter to share that the tribute is too short to hold an impact and as they have waited three hours, they deserved more than three seconds. A fan said, "That wasn’t a tribute. It was a disappointment. I waited 3 hours for 3 seconds." Another viewer said, "Stupid mention but they better be glad we boosted they ratings cus without us they wouldn't be that many ppl on the YT livestream *11M ppl*" A fan quipped, "Selena must be rolling in her grave and the fact that her husband Chris Perez was so excited to see it. Like c’mon!" A viewer outraged, "Yeah latinos constantly being paid DIRT in the American music industry but ofc no one gives a f*ck!" Another angry fan slammed the Academy sharing, "Exactly. What even was this. The @RecordingAcad should be ashamed. Yall hit a new low of shamelessness this year in every field."
