Selena Gomez and Blackpink collab ‘Ice Cream’ drops sweet new teaser, fans say she looks like a ‘barbie doll’

There is also a poster showing Gomez smiling widely dressed in a midriff-bearing candy-striped pair of separates, reminding fans of the single's scheduled release - August 28 at midnight EST/1 pm KST

The much-awaited collaboration of music sensation Selena Gomez and South Korean girl group Blackpink is finally getting closer to being released. To keep up fans' interests YG Entertainment dropped the latest “Ice Cream” poster featuring Selena Gomez on August 26 taking the excitement several notches high. In the poster, Selena can be seen smiling widely dressed in a midriff-bearing candy-striped pair of separates. She complemented the retro look with a sailor hat, white gloves, chunky gold hoops and wind-tousled hair. The singer appears to be in a gleeful mood. The poster is to remind her fandom of the single's scheduled release date, which is Friday (Aug 28) at midnight EST/1 pm KST.

Taking to Twitter, Gomez also posted a teaser video of the upcoming collab tweeting, “Special delivery! ICE CREAM song and video are out on August 28. @BLACKPINK.” 

Gomez’s poster is in line with other posters of Blackpink’s members that have already been posted by YG Family. The posters reveal Blackpink’s members Jennie, Rosé, Lisa and Jisoo wearing similarly vintage fashion, rocking their own '70s-inspired look that screams bright colors and elements like flower power and macrame.

Billboard reports that in the lead-up to the single, Gomez called the chance to work with Blackpink "a big, big dream for me" during a love-filled FaceTime call earlier this week with the foursome. The website further reports that "Ice Cream" is set to be featured as the second pre-release single off Blackpink's long-awaited debut album, ‘Blackpink: The Album’ that will be released on October 2 via YG Entertainment. As soon as the posters and video dropped, Blinks and Selenators took to Twitter to get #Icecream trending and started to praise Gomez saying that she is “Queen”. Others called her the most trending topic of the virtual world. “The queen @selenagomez is #1 Worldwide Trending Topic In @twitter. #IceCream”

Some said she was looking like a Barbie doll. “Selena gomez said let me show the world what a living barbie girl looks like.” 

Some called the star the '7th member of blackpink'. 

Some have already tagged the collab's efforts as 'Song of the Year' and judging by the teaser fans say Gomez and Blackpink need to be given awards for Music Video of the Year as well as Collab of the year.

Fans said that they are really proud of ‘Selpink’ which combines Selena and Blackpink. “SELPINK I AM SO PROUD OF YOU. WE FIGHT, WE MARCH, WE AIM FOR #1. WE WILL STRIVE, HOW YOU LIKE THAT BLINKS?
