Selena Gomez recently received the 4x platinum plaque for her 2018 hit single ‘Taki Taki’ with DJ Snake and it looks like fans might soon get ‘Taki Taki 2.0' as both the artists have teased their collaboration again on Twitter. DJ Snake shared a video snippet where we could see a brief interaction between the two global artists.

‘Taki Taki’ was released in September 2018 and the song also featured Cardi B and Ozuna apart from Gomez and Snake. The track was the second single from Snake's second studio album titled ‘Carte Blanche'. Snake also teased the release date of his new song with Gomez on Twitter asking, “Should we drop it next week?? @selenagomez.” The songstress also reverted on the micro-blogging site with a fire emoticon.

Release date

Though DJ Snake has not spilled the beans on the release date of the yet-untitled track, many speculated that the song might hit the internet on March 4, 2021.

Concept

DJ Snake's new collaboration with Gomez follows his 2020 song ‘Trust Nobody’ and his 2019 album ‘Carte Blanche'. The renowned DJ confirmed the new project with Gomez with a short video where we see Snake sending texts to the songstress on Instagram. He sends the 4x platinum picture of their song ‘Taki Taki’ to the singer and says, “Look, what just came in the mail” to which Gomez replies, “I just got mine too!”

Snake then shares an idea and says, “I think it’s time we gave them another one. Hold on I have an idea.” The musician then sends an audio clip which we could not hear. Giving thumbs up to the idea, the singer reverts, “OMG! I love this. Let’s do it.” Snake then ends the chat with two “cool dude” emoticons.

Gomez has been busy working on her solo project as well. She is dropping her first-ever Spanish EP titled ‘Revalacion’ in March, which features already-released songs ‘De Una Vez’ and ‘Baila Conmigo’ featuring Rauw Alejandro. For the unversed, Gomez had also crooned a few Spanish lines on the song ‘Taki Taki'. Selena sings in Spanglish, “I am the party/Yo soy fiesta/Blow out your candles/Then have a siesta/They can try, pero no one can stop me/What my taki taki wants, ya/My taki taki gets.” And then she croons in Spanish, which translates to, "Dance as if it were the last time/And show me that little step I don't know/A nice little kiss, baby.”

‘Have a music video please’

Fans of Gomez and Snake erupted with joy as soon as the news of their collaboration hit the internet. One fan said, “COME ON, DO WE HAVE ANOTHER SMASH?” Another stated, “You should drop it now! We are here to stream. Y’all ready for the collapse!!! Yup yup we stannnnn.” One user shared, “Better have a Music Video please legends.” Another added, “I would love to hear more music from you and @selenagomez @djsnake. Is there a chance that like #TakiTaki you will have a pixel like music video along with the original music video.”
