'Selena + Chef': Did Selena Gomez just say boys are afraid to hit on her because she's too famous for them?

Selena said it during her conversation with Daniel Holzman, the mastermind behind The Meatball Shop

"You did a good job. We are proud of you," said singer-actress Selena Gomez's grandparents as she wrapped up 'Selena + Chef' Season 1. Her stint on the show was filled with culinary adventures, something she never thought she would have the time to explore. But with a lot of hard work and able guidance from widely successful chefs, Selena was able to chop, mix, fry, toss, knead and plate like a pro.

From burning cookies to making the perfect-shaped gnocchi, Selena has come a long way. Today, she can gloat about her culinary achievements without having an iota of doubt and that was possible because the chefs, who are otherwise aggressive in their kitchens, were gentle and accommodating with her while she picked up tricks of the trade. They indulged in interesting conversations with the popstar every now and then to introduce a slight variation to the narrative of the show.

One such conversation was with Daniel Holzman, the mastermind behind The Meatball Shop. As he taught Selena how to put together the perfect meatball mix, Daniel asked when she puts out music videos (referring to her hit single 'Boyfriend'), she must be receiving a lot of requests from boys who'd want to be her boyfriend. But the reality is completely different, Selena revealed.

"To be honest, the guys that are bold enough to hit on me are not my type," Selena said and added: "And the guys that I would love to hit on me would not set foot near a pop star. I think the idea of me is too much for people." Did she just hint that the type of boys she loves are often intimidated by her because she is famous?

This isn't the first time Selena has spoken about her love life and relationships on the show. But, it wasn't a sob story that she was narrating. It was always funny and how finding the right boy can be quite a challenge. In the premiere episode, she asked Chef Ludo Lefebvre how she would find a good boyfriend. He had the perfect response. Ludo said he would recommend French boys to her but they are too passionate for her. "I like passion," Selena joked.
