Scarlett Johansson, a two-time Oscar nominee, has formally denied an old allegation that she had sex in an elevator with her 'Avengers: Infinity War' co-star Benicio del Toro, albeit she did not name him. The myth about the Chateau Marmont elevator is said to have started with an Esquire interview in which the 55-year-old Oscar winner appeared evasive.

On TheSkimm's '9 to 5ish' podcast, which aired on Tuesday, April 12, at 9 pm EST, the 37-year-old former child star revealed, "That was a story that followed me for a long time. But I always thought that was outrageous. I was always thinking to myself, 'That would be tough. It's a very short period, the logistics of that seem so unappealing to me.' I'm a person who's terrified of being caught doing something I'm not supposed to be doing. So that made the story even that much more absurd to me."

In the Esquire interview, Benicio was asked, "Did I ever have sex in an elevator with Scarlett Johansson after an awards show?" To which he replied, "I kind of like, you know, I, well. I don't know. Let's leave that to somebody's imagination. Let's not promote it. I'm sure it has happened before. It might not be the last time either," he stated.

Coming to Scarlett, the gorgeous actress was on the podcast to promote The Outset, an eco-friendly skincare line she co-founded with former beauty/fashion executive Kate Foster Lengyel earlier this year. "The most surprising thing about it has been how welcoming the industry is. I didn't anticipate that," Johansson exclaimed. "It's actually quite transparent and welcoming and warm and inviting... And people have a lot of respect for one another. It's not cutthroat at all. Not in the way that I thought it might be."

Starting April 26, The Outset will be available at Sephora stores, and the duo will donate 10% of purchases (up to $25K) to areas affected by the California wildfires. The native New Yorker will next executive produce and co-star in Jason Bateman's space race picture Project Artemis, which has a $100 million distribution agreement with AppleTV+, with her Avengers co-star Chris Evans.

On the career front, Scarlett's last movie was Wes Anderson's 'Asteroid City' (released in November 2021) in which she worked with her 'Lost in Translation' co-star Bill Murray. The 39-year-old Emmy nominee serves as co-head writer and Weekend Update co-anchor in the 47th season of Lorne Michaels' long-running sketch show 'Saturday Night Live', which airs Saturdays on NBC.

Johansson has two children from her ex-husband Romain Dauriac and with third husband Colin Jost, she has a daughter Rose Dorothy Dauriac, 7, and an eight-month-old son Cosmo Jost.
