Scarlett Johansson and SNL star Colin Jost engaged after two years of dating

Actress Scarlett Johansson and SNL's Colin Jost have now made their engagement public. The couple, however, hasn't set a wedding date as yet.

Congratulations are in order for Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost.

Reports confirm that Johansson and Jost of "Saturday Night Live" are engaged after two years of dating. Johansson's publicist Marcel Pariseau told The Associated Press Sunday that the private couple is officially engaged after two years of dating. Pariseau says no date has been set for the nuptials.

While this is the first marriage for 36-year-old Jost, who is the co-anchor of SNL's Weekend Update, Johansson, 34, was previously married to actor Ryan Reynolds and journalist Romain Dauriac, with whom she has a daughter named Rose who was born in 2014.

The couple recently walked the red carpet together at the premiere of "Avengers: Endgame," in which Johansson plays the character of Black Widow.

The rumors of them dating started in 2017 when the Black Widow star hosted SNL for the fifth time. Her impression of Ivanka Trump set her up for a return to the show where rumors of Jost and her dating began.

The rumors gained strength after PageSix reported that Johansson who was going through a divorce at that time was seen kissing Jost after she appeared on SNL in May 2017. The couple then went public with their romance at the American Museum of National History Gala that very December.

While the happy couple tends to keep their relationship under the radar, they made their red carpet debut in 2018 at the world premiere of “Avengers: Infinity War” in Los Angeles.

Reports say that it was Jost's SNL co-star Kate McKinnon was the one who set the two up.

This engagement could be a bummer for Marvel fans who had in 2017 tried and hoped very hard to bring Johansson and Chris Evans together. Post her divorce with Dauriac, fans were hoping they would be seeing a new couple in the two but a source shared with E!News that "Scarlett just got separated from Romain and is still dealing with the fact that now she's had two failed serious relationships. She's not trying to rush into anything and is just chilling."
