'Saturday Night Live': Pete Davidson spoofs Eminem's 'Stan' as he begs Santa for PS5, fans call it a 'perfect match'
Pete Davidson’s Eminem avatar on Saturday Night Live in the latest episode is winning the internet. SNL picked up on the collective obsession of the nation on Playstation 5 with an Eminem and Santa Claus video sketch where Davidson appeared as Eminem.
A holiday rendition parody of Eminem’s ‘Stan’ on SNL on December 5 shows Davidson as the obsessed PS5 'stan' hoping to get one from Santa on Christmas. Davidson writes a number of letters to Claus, tattoos his name on his chest but at the end of the video, the real Eminem appears to receive the Sony Console.
Internet has loved the accurate portrayal of the craze regarding Sony Playstation 5 but above all, Davidson’s act has stunned the followers as they took to social media to sing praises for the standup comedian. A fan wrote, “How it is possible that #SNL has never had Pete Davidson star in a send up of an Eminem video before?! It is a perfect match. And the cameo by the real Slim Shady at the end was the icing on the cake. #SaturdayNightLive” Another said,
“I thought I was getting over my crush on Pete Davidson until I saw him dressed up as Eminem on @nbc snl” Another said, That #SNL holiday spoof of Eminem’s Stan was an amazing idea! A user agreed to that stating, “Pete Davidson is a fantastic Eminem and no I won’t be taking a questions rn” An excited fan stated, “OMG WAIT PETE DAVIDSON DOIN A CHRISTMAS SKIT BASED ON EMINEM’S MUSIC VIDEO IS EVERYTHING I DIDN’T KNOW WE NEEDED.” To which another user posted, “I didn't know I could stan Pete or Eminem anymore that I already did but here we are.”

SNL parodying the PS5 obsession comes after eBay has issued a statement recently addressing the number of resellers in the E-commerce platform who are trying to mislead the customers and charge more for the Sony Console. In a statement, they said, "We condemn these opportunistic sellers who are attempting to mislead other users," and added "We are in the process of removing all listings for photos of PS5s from our marketplace and will be taking appropriate action against the sellers.
