PARK CITY, UTAH: Gwyneth Paltrow won the Utah ski crash case this week after an eight-day-long trial. The accident that took place back in 2016, had the world talking again as the court proceedings were telecasted live. Currently, one of the jurors, Samantha Imrie, has spoken on her ruling in favor of the actress, “I think there was, in the back of my mind, yes, this woman’s an actress and I took that into account, but I didn’t feel she had a reason to lie under oath.”

The 31-year-old told ABC News. “She’s always in the spotlight so she always has to be honest. It’s important that the public doesn’t just think that this was a win because Gwyneth’s a celebrity. I mean, this is based on the evidence. This is based on the law.” On the other hand, juror 11, found prosecutor Dr Terry Sanderson’s allegations 'full of inconsistencies'. “He was telling his truth and I think unfortunately some of that has been distorted due to some other factors, but I do think he did not intend to tell a truth that wasn’t his truth,” she said.

'Gwyneth Paltrow  was sued for $300,000'

Sanderson, 76, sued the ‘Great Expectations’star for $300,000, holding her responsible for the crash. As per the prosecutors, the accident left him with physical damage and ‘serious brain injuries. The court also considered the photographic evidence that showed the retired optometrist traveling the world after the accident. “I wouldn’t have thought he was capable of those things based on the picture that had been painted. I think I wrote down, 'Wow, I need to make some more money so I can go travel this way'" Imrie remarked.

'The whole thing was a little shocking to me'

The juror admitted that she changed her mind about the verdict several times during the trial, but decided after hearing an expert witness. “He’s a snow sports expert in many different ways. I think the fact that Dr [Irving] Scher could speak to the [ski binding] settings and he specifically studied snow science, that he had a stronger opinion,” Imrie said. Imrie also shared that being a professional nurse, helped her make a decision, “The whole thing was a little shocking to me. I do work in medicine and you have to look at everyone the same. So I think that that should apply in the courtroom as well."
