S Club 7's Tina Barrett breaks silence on Paul Cattermole's tragic death, calls him 'shining star' and 'full of life'
LONDON, ENGLAND: Fans and former bandmates of Paul Cattermole, 46, from S Club 7 are in shock following his tragic demise on Thursday, April 6. One of the members of the well-known British musical quartet, Tina Barrett, paid tribute to Paul in a moving poem that she posted on her Instagram account.
She praised Paul as a "shining star, full of character and life," and she was grateful for the support and best wishes she had gotten at this terrible time. Paul is seen playing the guitar while surrounded by his bandmates in a picture that Tina shared while the group was on tour.

'A shining star Full of character and life'
She said, "I wrote a poem for Paul Iβd like to share with you all... 'Paul Cattermole, A shining star Full of character and life, His flame burnt so bright, A rebel without a cause, A free spirit, a true force While strumming the guitar, He reached for the stars Farewell sweet Paul, Your star shines so bright, Forever in our hearts Sleep well and Goodnight, Miss you Cattermole love Tina.'"
'This has been utterly devastating'
Jo O'Meara, another member of the group, also shared a tribute on her Instagram page, describing Paul as a "sweetest soul" and expressing her love and gratitude for the memories they made together. "I just wanted to reach out and Thank everybody from the bottom of my heart for the love and kindness you have shown over the tragic passing of our sweetest soul Paul π This has been utterly devastating , and I am totally shocked and heartbroken π we have lost someone so incredibly special to us all , and there is a huge sense of sadness that will never go π’," O'Meara wrote. He added, "Paul will forever be a huge part of our lives , and I will forever treasure the memories we made ! I will love you always Paul , God bless you my darling , Rest in forever Peace. Love JoJo ππ» π."
'We are truly devastated by the passing of our brother Paul'
Fans and fellow musicians, including Kym Marsh and B*witched, also shared their condolences and support for the band during this difficult time. "We are all sending you lots of luv. Thinking of everyone. π RIP Paul. B*witched wrote in a comment. "Sending so much love to you all β€οΈ," Kym Marsh wrote. Earlier S Club 7 in their statement shared that they were devastated. "We are truly devastated by the passing of our brother Paul. There are no words to describe the deep sadness and loss we all feel. We were so lucky to have him in our lives and are thankful for the amazing memories we have. He will be so deeply missed by each and every one of us."
The band also announced that their 25th-anniversary tour would go ahead as planned, with a likely tribute to Paul included. Sources close to the band told Daily Mail that they are determined to honor Paul's memory and continue with the tour, as it was something he was looking forward to. "That's why there are some members of S Club 7 who are determined the tour goes on. To them, it seems the perfect way to pay tribute to him."
Cattermole was found at his Dorset home last Thursday morning and was pronounced dead in the afternoon. His family has requested that donations be made to the National Youth Music Theatre, an organization that brought Paul so much joy during his childhood, in lieu of flowers.
