LONDON, ENGLAND: One day before his death, Paul Cattermole reportedly indicated he was "beaming" for the S Club 7 reunion. The musical icon reportedly expressed to a fan his eagerness to perform on stage with his bandmates once again as they prepared for their 25th-anniversary tour. Cattermole, 46, was found dead at his Dorset home on April 6th.
The singer, who gained notoriety with the band S Club 7, had recently returned to the spotlight as he prepared for an S Club 7 reunion later this year. Before the band's October reunion tour, the 46-year-old vocalist was described as "smiling and upbeat" in one of his last contacts with a fan. Tragically, Cattermole was discovered dead the following day, leaving his bandmates, including his ex-girlfriend Hannah Spearritt, "numb," as per DailyMail.

Cattermole's buzzing conversation
The fan, who ran into the singer near his apartment on April 5 at noon, reminisced, "I was a big fan of S Club back in the day — they were my era — and I particularly liked the girls. But I knew Paul lived in the area and he was very happy and chatty when I introduced myself. He told me the band were going back on tour and couldn’t hide how excited he was about it. He was beaming when he said, ‘I’m going to smash it — it will be brilliant!'"
The fan added they parted ways amicably when Cattermole told the fan he was heading for lunch with a friend.
In his final photos, Cattermole could be seen dancing and grinning while on a stroll around the countryside. He was getting ready to go on tour once more this year with bandmates Rachel Stevens, Tina Barrett, Jon Lee, Bradley McIntosh, Jo O'Meara, and Hannah Spearritt. The rest of the band has vowed to continue the tour, which will feature a special tribute to the late S Club 7 member, who left the group in 2002 and led to their dissolution the following year.
Paul Cattermole dies at 46
Cattermole was found at his residence in Dorset early on Thursday, April 6, and was later declared dead, per his family's statement on Friday. According to the police, there was nothing unusual about his death. Hannah Spearritt, a member of S Club 7 and his ex-girlfriend, was stated to be "in pieces" after learning the news via the band's management.
The family of Paul Cattermole and S Club 7 released the following statement together on Friday: "It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved son and brother Paul Cattermole. Paul was found yesterday, 6th April 2023 at his home in Dorset and was pronounced dead later that afternoon."
Cattermole, who quit the band in 2002 and eventually found work as a tarot card reader, was reportedly in "good spirits" when he was spotted last Wednesday in a park close to his house in the Swanage area. He was "smiling and enjoying the sunshine," claimed a bystander.
Previously, Cattermole brought tears to the eyes of Loose Women viewers when he spoke up about his existence on the street, saying he was living off noodles and couldn't afford to buy a new shirt for his next television appearance. The musician revealed that since being declared bankrupt in 2015, he has fallen on hard times and has been having financial issues.
