Russell Crowe devastated as his 16-month-old pet puppy Louis dies in his arms after being hit by truck
SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: Russell Crowe is heartbroken after his 16-month-old Papillon, Louis, died in his arms after being hit by a truck on the second anniversary of his father's death. The actor shared a photo of his beloved pup and shared, "He won my heart...Unfortunately today...Louis was hit by a truck. We tried to get him to the vet, but he died in my arms while I was telling him how much we loved him."
Crowe, known for his love for animals, once shared a sweet moment with Louis, his Papillon, as they wore matching Ralph Lauren polos. "I'm not at all a fan of dressing dogs up, but, a friend bought little Louis a @RalphLauren polo so he can match with dad," he shared in December 2022. "I think the other dogs on the farm are going to get jealous. Pretty funny." Sadly, on Thursday's tragic accident, Louis passed away in Crowe's arms on the second anniversary of losing his father, John Alexander Crowe, at 85. In addition to being a devoted dog owner, Crowe is also a father to two sons, Charles, 19, and Tennyson, 16, whom he shares with his ex-wife, Danielle Spencer.
