BRIDGETOWN, BARBADOS: Rupert Murdoch, 91, was spotted vacationing with a new companion in Barbados. The billionaire was reportedly soaking up in sun with Ann-Lesley Smith, 66, who is a one-time chaplain and widow of famous country music singer Chester Smith.
According to Daily Mail, the duo met in November 2022 and eventually decided to go on a vacation together. Ann was seen wearing a yellow halterneck bikini along with a diamond crucifix pendant. However, the outlet also suggested that they have also spent time together on the Caribbean island at the invitation of Anthony Bamford, the chairman of JCB. You can check out the pictures here. In 1958, they welcomed a baby girl, Prudence MacLeod. However, they parted ways in 1967. Murdoch got married to Booker when he was just 25.
Ann Maria Trov
Ann Maria Trov got married to Murdoch in 1967, the same year when he got divorced from Booker. She was a Scottish journalist. He has three children with Trov, including Elisabeth Murdoch, Lachlan Murdoch, and James Murdoch. Trov also composed two books for his company called 'Family Business' and 'Coming to Terms'. Trov has also revealed how they first met. According to Vanity Fair, Murdoch also claimed, “I thought she was a very pretty girl. Her writing skills were not going through my mind.” They got divorced in June 1999 and she received a settlement of $1.2 billion, as per Hello Magazine. She once stated, "I began to think the Rupert Murdoch that I loved died a long time ago. Perhaps I was in love with the idea of still being in love with him. The billionaire got married to Wendi Deng after 17 days of divorce from Trov. Wendi was just 30 years old when she married 68-year-old Murdoch. Back then, she was the vice president of his channel STAR TV. They initially met at a company party in Hong Kong in 1997. There were rumors that she had an alleged affair with former UK prime minister Tony Blair while still being married to Murdoch, reported Hello Magazine.
She was also famous for stopping an attack by protester Jonathan May-Bowles, who threw a pie at her husband during a British parliamentary committee hearing into the News International phone-hacking scandal in 2011, reported The Guardian.
