Pink Floyd’s former bass player, co-lead vocalist and lyricist Roger Waters is 77 and he is still putting out more music than ever for his loyal fans. Despite being part of the band since formation, the British singer-songwriter has also been releasing his solo albums since 1984. Though the rock band Pink Floyd was last active in 1995, their last album, ‘The Endless River’, released in 2014.

Like any other rock musician, Waters has also been into a lot of touring and his 2017-2018 Amsterdam tour, ‘Us+ Them Tour’, was made into a film which even premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2019. Now, the rock crooner has decided to release a Live album of the songs he played at the tour. Waters had shared the big news in June 2020 with a tweet which read, “Roger Waters US + THEM is now available on the Apple TV app, Prime Video and other digital stores NOW. PLUS you can pre-order the CD, LP, DVD and Blu-ray, to be released Oct 2nd: https://rogerwaters.lnk.to/us-them.”

Apart from this Live album ‘Us + Them’, Waters had last dropped a full-length album in 2018 titled ‘Igor Stravinsky's The Soldier's Tale’.

Release date

‘Us + Them’ live album will hit the Internet on Friday, October 2, 2020. As mentioned earlier, a tour movie was released in 2019 which featured the four shows from the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam.

Concept

Speaking to the Rolling Stone about nostalgic tours featuring full albums or sets of deep cuts in 2019, Waters said, “I’m writing new shit all the time. I will go on doing what I’ve always done. My work is to think, 'Well, how can I make rock & roll more interesting or theatrical or exciting or visual or musical or whatever?' That’s what I’ve spent the last 50 years doing, expressing myself. And I shall continue to do that. I can’t think of anything I want to do less than go and sing 'Set the Controls' in a pub.”

Tracklist

The live album will be extensive and will keep the fans hooked with 23 songs. Fans can also grab an expanded home release which will come with a documentary short called ‘A Fleeting Glimpse’.
