AWKWARD! Hilarious moment python tries to visit Robert Irwin 'DOWN UNDER' on live TV
QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA: Known for being the 'Crocodile Hunter,' Robert Irwin has gone viral on social media this month. During a live segment on the Australian news channel Sunrise, the 18-year-old wildlife photographer and animal lover was seen handling a pair of diamond pythons when one of the reptiles moved a little too close to his crotch.
The segment was hosted by Sunrise weatherman Sam Mac when the script headed towards an unexpected moment on live television. Irwin was seen passing the snake carefully to Mac at the Australian Zoo on the Queensland Sunshine coast. The breakfast television caught the "bit bitey" snake moving closer to Irwin's shorts as the duo bantered about the whole situation. "Where's it heading down there," said the weatherman as the snake stopped right around Irwin's shorts.

The awkward moment was posted on the news channel's official Instagram page. It was captioned with, "Where’s it heading down there?!? Sam Mac @sammacinsta caught up with Robert Irwin @robertirwinphotography at the new Crocodile Hunter Lodge at @australiazoo and was a bit worried when a python got VERY personal with Robert…" The viewers were quick to flood the comments section pointing out the hilarious bit. A fan wrote, "Just love Robert Irwin. What a breath of fresh air he is. A national treasure are the Irwin family." Another said, "Hard pass love the Irwin’s …not so much snakes…"
The amusing moment was later laughed off at the Sunrise studio by hosts Natalie Barr and David Koch. While the son of late wildlife warrior Steve Irwin was completely in control of the situation, Koch humorously said that he "wasn't sure" what was going on. The 18-year-old zookeeper did not pay much heed to the situation as well and raised the snake's head towards his chest. He continued to talk more about the reptile species and called the diamond pythons "really inquisitive and smart." "Diamond pythons are beautiful, aren't they?" he said.
Irwin has often been on the news because of his wild antics with animals. The young zookeeper previously launched a photography competition 'Crikey Comp' in July. He has also appeared on 'The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon' several times. He continues to interest viewers with the creatures of the wild and resembles his father while he does so.
