Steve Irwin's family remembers the 'Crocodile Hunter' on his 58th birthday: 'You're always with me'
Steve Irwin made a special place in everyone's heart ever since he showed how wildlife is a thing to love and not to be afraid of. February 22 would have been his 58th birthday and even though he is not with us, the 'Crocodile Hunter' is always missed. Recently, his daughter Bindi Irwin honored him by wishing him on her social media.
Bindi shared a throwback picture with Steve which showed the two smiling and having the time of their lives. She revealed that on the occasion of his birthday, she did everything that he would have loved.
"Dad, Today is your birthday. I had an extra-strong cup of tea just how you liked it. I hugged Mum for you and told her how much we love her," she wrote on social media. "Robert and I went on a hike through the mountains you cherished. I watched one of your documentaries with Chandler and shared stories about you."
She further wrote, "I walked through your office in the zoo and smiled at our old family photographs." She concluded the post by writing, "Today and every day I miss you and love you beyond description. You’re always with me."
Terri Irwin also took to Twitter to share her thoughts on her late husband's birthday. "Today would’ve been Steve’s 58th birthday. While my heart aches missing him every day, I’m determined to celebrate what he loved the most. He was happiest spending time @AustraliaZoo w/ @BindiIrwin & @RobertIrwin. He was my best friend, best dad, & built the best Zoo. I love you," she wrote along with a series of pictures that showed Steve's life in pictures.
Meanwhile, Robert Irwin also shared a picture with his family. The picture showed Bindi, himself, Steve and Terri smiling and posing for the camera. He captioned the image as, "Family Always". Even though Steve passed away when his children were young, to date, Bindi and Robert make sure that they keep their father's legacy alive.
The 'Crocodile Hunter' died on September 4, 2006, in an unfortunate accident that took place while he was filming in Australia's Great Barrier Reef. He lost his life after being pierced in the chest by a stingray barb. Steve was filming one of his documentaries when he decided to swim in the shallow waters in the hope of getting footage for his daughter's show. Unfortunately, it was then that he was attacked.
