'It was so sick': Rob Lowe reveals his son Matthew kicked him in the crotch during family prank
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Rob Lowe shares an incident when one of his kids, kicked him in the crotch while he pranked them on a family trip. The ‘Bad Influence’ actor who is a proud father to his two sons, John Owen, 28, and Matthew, 30, told on The Kelly Clarkson Show, that he once pranked them when they were young boys and wore a costume of bigfoot in the night. "So we went camping, they were probably 8 and 6. I would always tell them stories about Bigfoot, so I decided we were going to the Pacific Northwest where Bigfoot supposedly lives, so I rented a really elaborate Bigfoot costume," said Lowe.
The star added that he hid the costume in the Winnebago they took on the trip and pulled it on during the night, "I popped out in the middle of the night and walked around the campfire in the distance, making horrible noises." He recalled the moment to be too exciting, "It was so sick, it was the best." To his story, Clarkson responded that her kids would "never sleep again," if she tried something like that. On this, Lowe laughed and revealed, “Well one of them, Matthew, came up and kicked me in the you-know-whats." Clarkson added, "That's bold!" Before Lowe continued, "He's good — this kid's gonna grow up to be somebody," The 58-year-old also said that his other son "vomited" at the prank, "It was definitely a family highlight for sure."

While on the green carpet of his Dog Gone premiere, Lowe told People in December how parenting changed after his kids whom he shares with his wife Sheryl Berkoff, turned into adults. "They finish college and now you're at a whole other level of parenting. Like, okay, it's the real world. Go to work, get a job, what's that going to look like?" he said. Adding on how he can relate to the character in the movie with his personal experience, "That's the theme of the movie." "Anytime I get to play something that mirrors my own life, it just makes it more resonant as an actor," Lowe said as the movie centers around a family’s search for their much-loved missing dog.
It was announced in April, last year that Lowe will star alongside his son John Owen Lowe in a Netflix family drama, ‘Unstable.’ It has been co-created and executively produced along with Victor Fresco.
