'RHOP' Season 8: Viewers call out Ashley Darby for pitting Nneka Ihim and Wendy Osefo against each other

Nneka Ihim doesn't harbor animosity toward Ashley Darby, but it seems like things are very different with Wendy Osefo

POTOMAC, MARYLAND: 'The Real Housewives of Potomac' gave a cold greeting to the new housewife in Potomac. Nneka Ihim appeared first time in the series in Season 8.

Unfortunately, Ashley Darby, a particular 'RHOP' pot-stirrer, ruined her introduction to the gang.

On the surface, Ashley appeared to be delighted to present two fellow Nigerians, Nneka and Dr Wendy Osefo.

In reality, Ashley utilized Nneka to learn more about a story she had heard about Wendy's family.

Wendy's ancestors purportedly sprung from a cursed, despised Igbo tribe known as Osu. Ashley later went to Dr Wendy and told her what she and Nneka had discussed.

When the episode aired, viewers responded swiftly to Ashley appearing to sabotage Nneka's debut with the group.

Calling Ashley the villain, fans on X wrote, "Wendy been on this show for 4 seasons now & that Osu rumor been out since season 5. We never spoke on it before, and Ashley waits to have this conversation, conveniently when there’s another Nigerian woman on the show. Wendy… Ashley is the villain."

Another user chimed in, "Ashley setting up these two African sisters against each other."

One person further tweeted, "'No, I mis-remembered.' And once again Ashley’s so quick to relay messy information, even when she’s not sure of what was even said. Are y’all finally ready to admit SHE is the messiest bitch on this show?"

A fourth person wrote, "Dam Ashley done shown us the reenactment of African colonization in real-time smh.. I was really rooting for Wendy and Nneka too…"

Further calling Ashley evil, one user wrote, "For Ashley and production to dabble with controversial topics in a Nigerian society & use a charged word like Osu to rile two Nigerian ladies and to use stereotypes of African culture and practices &also throwing voodoo (which isn’t Nigerian) in there… Ashley is so evil."

One person also wondered, "Ashley, why do you keep bringing up this Osu thing when you know nothing about it. You aren't even African. Stay out of those folks' culture and go play with your new t****s."

The 'RHOP' newcomer spoke with Rolling Out about her views regarding her first episode. Surprisingly, she offers a different perspective on what happened with Ashley.

Of course, Nneka wasn't fully satisfied with Ashley's actions on 'RHOP'.

Nneka expected a cordial welcome, but instead, she was pulled into controversy with the only other Nigerian in the cast before meeting the rest of the ensemble.

Ashley "fumbled" with her introduction, according to Nneka, but she has no hard feelings.

She clarified, “One thing I do admire about that is that [Ashley] cleaned it up quickly. She started a mess and cleaned up the mess instead of maybe hiding her hands like some people would have done.”

Although Nneka does not bear a grudge toward Ashley, the situation with Wendy appears to be a different story. Wendy, she alleged, destroyed their relationship more than Ashley did.

"I'll have to let you guys continue to watch to evaluate for yourself," she said.
