'Real Housewives of New York City' star Tinsley Mortimer quits after fiancé Scott Kluth forces her to choose between him and the show

Tinsley Mortimer of 'Real Housewives of New York City' has quit the show. Fellow castmate Luann de Lesseps confirmed her exit earlier this week at her cabaret show. Trust the housewives to add spice to a storyline.

Mortimer was over-the-moon when fiancé Scott Kluth proposed to her at the Chicago Water Tower late last month, following which she decided to discontinue filming so that she can dedicate time to her marriage.

Mortimer's mother, who was overjoyed at the news of her daughter's proposal, is now disappointed with her decision to leave 'RHONYC'. "I think she's more upset that Tinsley's not filming anymore now that she's marrying Scott than Tinsley is," The Sun quoted Lesseps as saying.

There have been speculations about Mortimer quitting ever since she skipped a trip to Mexico with her castmates. However, Lesseps was very happy about Mortimer.

She shared how her newly-engaged friend always wanted to settle down and have kids. "That's what she wants to do. She's very traditional. She wants to have a baby. It's time," she addressed the press at the show.

However, like every relationship, Mortimer and Kluth's equation is a tad complicated. They first met on the show and ever since had an on-and-off equation, thanks to the gossip and backbiting on it.

Kluth wasn't particularly pleased with the way 'RHONYC' was impacting his bond with Mortimer and he gave her an ultimatum — "Me or the show." Mortimer has never been at the center of thick friendships that were built on the show, which made it easier for her to leave it.

"He loves the limelight but hated the negative effect the show had on their relationship. And Tinsley, she's desperate to make the relationship work and was on the outs with the group as it was," an insider informed People.

The insider added, "It was much easier for her to walk away from the friendships she was never going to have to fight for the relationship she always wanted."

Whatever the case may be, it's great to know that these cast members are still capable of taking hard calls and ready to prioritize their personal lives over the one that only lasts until the curtains are drawn.
