'RHOC': Is Braunwyn 'faking' her alcoholism for a new spin-off show? Fans divided over Kelly Dodd's claims

Fans had mixed responses to Kelly's claims of Braunwyn's alcoholism being 'contrived and fake'

One can always trust Kelly Dodd to bring steaming hot drama to our screens. Although, the housewife has been mostly out of the drama on Season 15 of 'Real Housewives of Orange County', she has exposed her familiar shady side during her appearance on the talk show 'Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen'. Kelly and 'Real Housewives of Salt Lake City' star, Whitney Rose, recently, were the guests on the talk show.

During a segment, Andy began bringing up a series of events shown on the show and asking them whether they were regretted their actions/ words shown to them. It was Kelly's turn and Andy brought up the incident of the housewife sneaking in tequila to Braunwyn Windham Burke's vow renewal ceremony, despite knowing that it was a trigger for her. Kelly instantly replied saying that she had no regrets over her behavior.

She then went on to claim that Braunwyn's whole alcoholism thing was 'contrived and fake' and that she was doing it just to land her very own spin-off show. When host Andy, who also happens to be the executive producer of the 'Real Housewives' franchise seemed puzzled on hearing this, Kelly elaborated her claims further. The sassy housewife shared that Braunwyn and her talent manager planned it all and on the advice of her talent manager, the housewife stopped drinking and created the alcoholism storyline. She then teased Andy and the audience that we would get to see it all towards the end of the season. 

When fans heard Kelly's claims of Braunwyn faking her addiction, they were divided. Few fans felt that there was some weight to Kelly's claims. A fan tweeted, "Okay...I am NOT a fan of Kelly Dodd, but I believe her about Braunwyn. I think this whole alcoholic thing is something she is playing up for attention. I feel like she is juggling every hot button topic this season. She REALLY likes attention. #RHOC #WWHL #sorrynotsorry." "I don't agree with most of what @RHOC_KellyDodd says, but I do agree that Braunwyn is faking her alcoholic storyline. #ISaidWhatISaid #RHOC #WWHL," seconded a fan. Another fan wrote, "Braunwyn should be ashamed of herself for faking an addiction when millions of people actually struggle with alcoholism #rhoc #wwhl." 

Several other fans slammed Kelly for making such outrageous claims. A fan commented, "Kelly saying braunwyn is faking her alcoholism is sick! Yet if she was faking it for a show that would be worse. Im chosing to believe braunwyn but if this ends up to be true idk how I will react #rhoc #wwhl." "GAWD, Kelly just said that she feels Braunwyn faked her sobriety to get her own show, & it’s all contrived. CRINGE. #RHOC #WWHL," expressed a fan. Another fan shared, "I don’t care if you hate Braunwyn you don’t ever question someone’s struggles we don’t know everything that happens behind close doors. And y’all really believing Covid Dodds who’s just trying to safe her job please #WWHL #rhoc."
