An official remake of the Argentine show, 'Rebelde', created by Cris Morena, gained immense popularity in the early 2000s. The show revolved around the lives of six teenagers with different personalities who attend a prominent private school with only one thing in common: their vocation and passion for music.
This series, which starred performers such as Enrique Rocha, Ninel Conde, Maite Perroni, Patricio Borghetti, and Anahí among others, gave rise to Latin pop group RBD that went on to achieve worldwide fame. Though the series originally ran from October 2004 to July 2006, RBD went on to perform well after 'Rebelde' ended. They officially disbanded in March 2009 after an extremely successful five year run.
Consisting of members Alfonso Herrera, Anahí, Dulce María, Christian Chávez, Christopher von Uckermann and Maite Perroni, RBD has sold over 15 million records around the globe. They are best known for hit songs such as 'Esse Coração', 'Atrás de Mim', 'Uma Canção' and 'Inalcanzable'.
