Can anyone forget the adorable rat who cooks? Disney's ‘Ratatouille’ has snuck a sweet spot in our hearts and it seems to have gotten a new musical twist now. Get say to say bon appetit with a big Broadway feast as the New Year kicks in. ‘Ratatouille: The TikTok Musical’ celebrates the delectable crowd-sourced creation by giving it the full high-kicking, lip-smacking Broadway treatment. It’s your musical, cooked to perfection. Join Broadway’s biggest and brightest talents along with some of the most celebrated TikTok creators for a singular special event benefiting The Actors Fund. Here is everything you need to know with all the details from their official website.

How was the idea born?

A Time article spills the beans and recounts how the idea first blossomed when Emily Jacobsen, a 26-year-old schoolteacher from Hartsdale, NY, posted a squeaky-voiced a capella ode to Pixar character Remy the Rat to TikTok in October. The report reads: "The ballad, which Jacobsen composed while cleaning her apartment, went viral. Other users employed the platform’s “duet” feature to add new background music or melodies, choreograph dances and build panoramas of a moving stage."

Adapted by Michael Breslin and Patrick Foley, the musical was choreographed by Ellenore Scott, directed by Lucy Moss, and features music from Danny Bernstein, Gabbi Bolt, Chamberlin, RJ Christian, Nathan Fosbinder, Emily Jacobsen, Sophia James, Katie Johantgen, Daniel Mertzlufft, Alec Powell, and Blake Rouse.

When does it premiere?

The movie premieres on January 1 at 7 pm ET and after the premiere, the event will be available to purchase and view on demand for 72 hours. Wondering where to watch? Access it on the TodayTix website or its mobile apps.

Where can you stream it?

What is the cost of tickets?

The website reads: "All ticket prices for Ratatouille will provide the same access to the final production. Please consider a higher ticket price for an incremental contribution to The Actor's Fund."

The tickets are priced, starting at $5. There are different price buckets — ranging from $15, $20, $25, $35, $50 and $100 — and you can gift them to your friends too.

How to gift a ticket?

Through TodayTix, you can purchase a gift card to be redeemed for a ticket to the show. It’s the perfect holiday gift for friends, family, or that special chef in your life.

Additionally, a partnership with Broadway For All — an organization dedicated to providing young people from disparate cultural and socio-economic backgrounds with the knowledge, means, and platform to be the creative voices of the next generation — gives access to “behind the scenes” content too.

Who will benefit from the event?

The proceeds of this event will benefit The Actors Fund, giving creators the opportunity to support other creators in this unprecedented and devastating time. Since the pandemic, The Actors Fund has given over $17 million in emergency relief to arts workers across the country.

Were TikTok creators paid?

Explaining its stance, the website reads: "Yes! We have partnered with many of the original creators to create Ratatouille: The TikTok Musical, and these creators are being credited and compensated. We're excited to work with this talented, diverse team to make the best show possible. They're the Remys, making it all happen. We're just a bunch of Linguinis."
