'Range Runners': Meet Celeste M Cooper, Sean Patrick Leonard and the rest of the cast of the survival thriller
The survival thriller 'Range Runners' had its world premiere at the 2019 Artemis Women in Action Film Festival in Santa Monica. Directed by Philip S Plowden, it follows a woman who ends up in the woods being traumatized by two men who have horrible ideas on their agenda. Finding her way out of that tough situation is almost the entirety of this acclaimed film that won lead actress Celeste M Cooper who plays the role of Mel a Twister Award for her delivery. Celeste M Cooper as Mel
Cooper is known for her roles on 'Chicago PD' where she played the role of a Medical Examiner, her role as Clete's Mother from 'Sense8' (2015) and Barbara from 'Chi-Raq' (2015). In 2019, the actress won a Twister Award at the Twister Alley International Film Festival for Best Actress - Feature film for her role in 'Range Runners.' Her other works include 'The Greasy Plate' (2011), 'Citizen in the Temple' (2015), 'Under Covers' (2015), and 'In the Paint' (2015).
Sean Patrick Leonard as Wayland
Leonard is known for his roles as John from 'Rockabye' (2017), Tyvan from 'Sweet Leaf' (2013), and 'Guys Book Club' (2011). His directional credits include 'Sunrise' (2019), 'Falling from Arms' (2020) and 'Step One' (2018); he was also a producer in all three productions. He's won over 10 awards which include a 48FILM Festival Award in 2012 for Best Actor, a Festival Award at the 2017 Austin Revolution Film Festival for Script to Screen Award for 'Rockabye', a Director's Choice in 2016 for Best Actor for 'Sweet Leaf' and an Audience Choice Award at the 2017 Chicago International REEL Shorts Festival for 'Rockabye' which he shared with David Bradburn, the director of the production and Kiea Houseton, the producer. His recent works include 'Chicago Med' (2019), 'Just Kill It' (2019), and 'Winter Smoke' (2020). He has a completed release titled 'Stranglehold' coming, along with 'Without Grace' in post-production, and 'One Nation' in pre-production.
Michael B Woods as Jared
Woods is known for his roles as the Creeper from 'Sinister 2' (2015), Rod from 'Utopia' (2020), Bobby Trent from 'Chicago P.D.' (2016-2017) and his role in 'The Drunk.' He has also been part of the hit series 'Shameless' (2012) where he played the role of Ralph with his other works being 'Speed Dating' (2014), 'Sleepy steve' (2015), 'Thrill Ride' (2016), his role as Piz in 'Empire' (2016) and 'In an Instant' (2017), a documentary.
Tiffany Renee Johnson as Chloe
Johnson is known for her roles as Gloria Johnson from 'Shameless' (2019), Yolanda from 'Soundtrack' (2019), Dr. Alyssa Morrison from 'Chicago Med', and Lauren Brooks from 'Chicago PD' (2016). Her most recent works include 'Controversy' (2017), 'Embeds' (2017) and 'Training Wheels' (2018).
Other members of the cast include Sarah Charipar as Naomi, Carl Clemons-Hopkins as Howard and Mariah Gordon as Young Mel.
The synopsis according to Fatal Films on IMDb reads, "A woman thru-hiking an isolated trail run into trouble when her pack is hijacked by two men hiding out in the woods, desperate and on the run. Now, stranded and left to fend for herself, she has a choice: crawl back to her normal life in defeat, or push forward and take back what was stolen from her."
