History's standout alien drama based on real-life developments of 'Project Blue Book' is all set to hit the channel, and by the looks of it, more teasing, titillating instances of real-life alien spottings and UFO sightings that plagued the Washington DC area back in the 40s and 50s are here to come.

Following its debut season pattern, each episode of the Aidan Gillen and Michael Malarkey starrer will focus on newer areas of alleged alien sightings.

This time too, Gillen's version of famous astrophysicist Dr. J Allen Hynek teams up with Malarkey's Captain Quinn to debunk the claims or the possible cover-ups that went behind shushing it all up.

Hynek will continue to navigate his own staunch beliefs as a skeptic man of science turned gradual believer, while Quinn — a character who represents all the air force officials who were onboard the titular investigation with the real-life Hynek, will continue to oscillate between his loyalties to his job and the obvious proofs resurfacing every now and then.

Amid this struggle of faith, belief and whom to trust with extraterrestrial matters being in focus, the show will highlight instances of the Roswell, New Mexico sightings, and the more recent uproar over Area 51.

But, of course, on the show, we will be taken through how it came to be the infamous site of alien landings and spottings. That and the US government's possible active participation and earnest attempts at covering the truth up are shown brilliantly through the character of General Harding played by Neal McDonough.

Joining Gillen and Malarkey will be Laura Mennell as Hynek's wife — Mimi, who can be expected to have a more hands-on part in helping her husband in his investigation of the truth.

Of course, Ksenia Solo joins in as the infamous Russian spy Susie, who may or may not have developed real feelings for Mimi as she tried to get closer to Hynek's work using Mimi's friendship as a ruse back in Season 1.

A lot of speculations over Quinn and Susie's budding romance have also graced the internet thanks to fans aplenty so there should be that fun prospect of the US air force officer falling for an undercover Russian spy to look forward to!

'Project Blue Book' Season 2 premieres on Monday, January 21, at 10/9c only on History.
