History Channel's flagship show first aired in 2013 and rose to critical acclaim for the bewitching tale of Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel), a legendary Norse hero, who went on to become a fearless warrior and commander of the Viking tribes along with his equally ferocious family. Till about season 4, the series followed the story of Ragnar and his rise and fall, trials and tribulations but nonetheless a heroic journey. The recently aired season 5 followed the story of Ragnar's many sons, and his first wife, Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick), a fierce shieldmaiden. Ragnar's many sons not only fought for the throne of Kattegat but also carved out their own identity as heroes and villains. The next season, which will be the last installment of the hit series will air later this year.
