Priscilla Block's 'Just About Over You' becomes No. 1 song thanks to huge fan campaign: 'I'm shook to my core'
Country singer Priscilla Block has now shot to the top of the heap on the US iTunes chart after an army of fans helped her clamber to the No. 1 spot with the song 'Just About Over You'. The candid song talks about the aftermath of a breakup, and the relatively unknown singer is now attracting interest from major labels after surpassing acknowledged stars like Billie Eilish, Luke Bryan, Dan + Shay, Harry Styles, A$AP Ferg and Nicki Minaj.
As of August 5, 'Just About Over You' managed to claim the No. 1 spot on both the iTunes Country Chart and the iTunes All Genre Chart. After becoming a viral sensation on the recently banned TikTok app with her previous song 'Thick Thighs', the artiste showcased her unapologetic honesty and empowering approach to songwriting with her latest tune, 'Just About Over You' which fans urged her to record as a new single. You can check it out here below:
The singer had written the breakup ballad about three weeks ago, and then dropped an a capella preview of the song on TikTok, singing it in her bedroom while doing her makeup. This immediately earned a strong response from her followers who were blown away by her quintessential country twang and hooky, heartfelt lyrics like "You must've heard I was moving on / Then right out of the blue / A quarter past two, I'm all about you / When I was just about, just about over you."
She eventually earned close to 2 million views for the song and then her army of fans, which included 330,000-plus followers on TikTok even helped raise money for the singer to record a well-produced, full-length version of the song. Now that's crowdfunding at its best! After it was released on August 5, the song promptly debuted at no.1 on the iTunes Country Chart and also surged to the No.3 spot on the iTunes All Genre Chart — it later reached number No. 1 in the latter category after some strong sales.

The singer herself couldn't quite believe what she had achieved herself, saying "Are you kidding" while looking at the jaw-dropping numbers. "This is a song I’ve wanted to write for a long time. It’s real life," she revealed in a recent interview with Country Now. "I've been through a time when I thought that I was over somebody and then you see them or their mom reaches out to you. Anything that sets you back a little bit. I think everyone can relate in some way."

On her Instagram account, Priscilla had also posted an emotional response, saying "I AM ABSOLUTELY SHOOK TO MY CORE..... (still crying) NUMBER FREAKING ONE ON TOP CHARTS AND COUNTRY CHARTS?? IN LESS THAN 12 hours????? Thank you... every damn one of y’all..."
A tussle for the top spot began late this week with plenty of Nicki Minaj fans aka the Barbz trying to get 'Move Ya Hips', a collab with the Harajuku Barbie and A$AP Ferg to the number one spot. But as of Thursday night, it looked like 'Just About Over You' was still reigning supreme on iTunes.

To make matters even sweeter for Priscilla, popular radio host and 'American Idol' mentor Bobby Bones even invited her on his show, which drew an emphatic yes from the country singer.
Speaking to Rolling Stone after her milestone accomplishment, the speechless singer revealed, "I am absolutely overwhelmed... I still have no words. I’ve always heard that country music fans are ride or die… and this right here proves it. This is six years of blood, sweat, and tears." She's already earning comparisons to the likes of Miranda Lambert and Adele, so we hope to see her capitalize on this success and make a name for herself in the coming years!
