Solo Prince Harry seen on Mozambique beach he visited with ex Chelsy Davy on romantic getaway
VILANCULOS, MOZAMBIQUE: The Duke of Sussex was pictured alone at Mozambique's azure Indian Ocean coast this week, sans Meghan Markle and their children. A picture that made rounds on Twitter showed Prince Harry in a casual brown polo shirt, a pair of blue shorts, and a pair of trainers. He also donned a hat of African Parks: Saving Wildlife as he is the president of this non-profit organization. This is the exact place where he once enjoyed romantic beach getaways with his Zimbabwean ex-girlfriend Chelsy Davy.
The solo trip to Mozambique's azure Indian Ocean coast this week came as a surprise as Prince Harry, after stepping away from royal duties, is staying in his $14 million mansion in California with his family. According to his spokesperson, he was on a business trip to host a group of US officials, conservationists, and philanthropists on a tour of the pristine Bazaruto Archipelago. This place is special to Harry as he would regularly plan getaways with his then-girlfriend Chelsy Davy there and enjoy the white sand while making the most of the coral reefs. The Twitter picture which showed Harry in Mozambique did not mention the time and date of when it was clicked.

Harry met Chelsy all the way back in 2004 during a gap year and they soon indulged in an on-off relationship over the course of the next seven years. They explored their formative years together making their relationship one of a kind. Back then, she raised eyebrows due to her 'outsider' status and the party girl image that she carried. Despite this, many royal commentators believed Chelsy and Harry were the real deal. In the 2011 documentary 'William and Kate: Into The Future,' Richard Kay, a royal author, and journalist said, "It’s a real love match. There’s no doubt about it. There’s great passion between the two of them; when they’re together the tension is visible, there’s electricity, there are sparks flying everywhere."
While it was all rainbows and roses for the people around Harry and Chelsy, the reality was something different as the relationship was on-off. After years of trying to make it work, the couple amicably called it quits in 2011 and reportedly stayed friends and were on good terms. By 2018, she was seen with British TV producer James Marshall, while some wondered if Meghan hooked them up as Marshall was good friends with the Duchess of Sussex. However, she married Sam Cutmore-Scott, a British hotelier and an old Eton schoolmate of Prince Harry in 2020.
Harry moved and led a rather adventurous life with Meghan Markle. Recently, according to Heat magazine, the couple is preparing to renew their marriage vows in a ceremony in the US four years on from their UK nuptials, and they don't care if the royal family is included or not! The source said, "The vow renewal is going to happen – and if that bothers anyone in the UK, then to hell with them." So, who is going to be on the guest list? The source revealed, "Meghan’s mum Doria will be on the list, but she’ll be the only family member. Then there will be a handful of their close US friends – like Katherine and David [Foster], Janina [Gavankar], possibly Priyanka and Nick Jonas – but, obviously, it’ll all depend on their schedules. There’ll be roles for the kids and they’ll write their own vows. The grand plan is to turn it into a big family vacation that will also serve as a second honeymoon."
