Prince Harry's ex-girlfriend Chelsy Davy is back on the radar after her comments about royal life from 2016 re-surfaced. A News International article revealed that Davy may have possibly predicted what the Duke and Duchess would go through while being part of the royal family as she had experienced a glimpse of this 'crazy and scary' life for a while.

Davy and Prince Harry had dated on and off for seven years but split back in 2010; no official reason was given why they broke up. But, it was reported that Davy was getting increasingly tired of the media attention she got for dating a royal. When the couple had broken up, Davy said that it was on mutual terms, adding that she and Harry would still be "good friends" - she also attended her ex-boyfriend's wedding to Meghan Markle.

Did Chelsy Davy predict Megxit?

Back in 2016, the former girlfriend of Harry said that she wasn't able to "cope" with the royal life, telling The Times, "It was so full-on: crazy and scary and uncomfortable.” She added, "I found it very difficult when it was bad. I couldn’t cope. I was trying to be a normal kid and it was horrible. It was nuts." Her comments reportedly foreshadowed what Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, would experience when she became a part of the royal family, and which was evidently made clear in the Sussexes recent CBS primetime special interview with Oprah Winfrey. "I like to enjoy life, but I like to achieve things and am very ambitious. They can be forgiven for not knowing I was working really hard, I didn’t shout about it. If you go out once, they take a picture, but they don’t take a picture of you going to work every morning, it’s of you falling out of a nightclub at 4 am," Davy said then.

While Davy was invited to the royal wedding on May 19, 2018, she was not invited to the exclusive reception after the wedding at Frogmore House. A source said, "Chelsy has been telling everyone she has been invited to the wedding and she is shopping for the perfect gown. She wants to look her very best and has been given a plus-one, but she has said she has not been invited to the evening party. Her nose is a bit out of joint but we’ve told her she’s lucky to be going to the actual wedding. She’s still hoping she might be asked to attend the evening party, too."

Back in 2020, it was reported that Harry had an "emotional" call with Davy a week before his marriage to Markle. An insider had revealed that this was the couple's 'final call,' saying, "A parting call in which they both acknowledged Harry was moving on. Chelsy was quite emotional about it all, she was in tears and almost didn’t go to the wedding." The insider added, "In the end, she went and promised Harry that she wouldn’t try and gatecrash the party." After they broke up, Davy and Prince Harry were said to have even had a fling in South Africa back in 2015. The next year, Harry met Markle.
