'UK doesn't want them': Harry and Meghan Markle slammed after being told to stay away from King Charles' coronation

MONTECITO, CALIFORNIA: Following the backlash from their explosive Netflix series titled 'Harry & Meghan', a group of political giants, top military officials, and renowned historians have encouraged the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to skip King Charles' coronation next year. One former cabinet minister stated that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle "categorically should not be" at Westminster Abbey on May 6, 2023, when Charles is crowned King amid a chorus of well-known voices urging them to stay at home.

Additionally, a shocking poll found that 48% of Britons think Prince Harry should be removed from the succession plan and that close to 50% think the Sussexes should lose their royal status. The revelation comes days after the initial episodes of the docuseries featured Harry's allegations of "unconscious bias" relating to race in the royal family, an upsetting depiction of the Commonwealth — the late Queen's beloved — as "Empire 2.0" and Meghan's pompous impersonation of a curtsey, reports Daily Mail.

Meghan Markle thought Prince Harry was 'egoistical' when he was late for their first date

"Why would they attend the Coronation if they dislike the royal family so much?" the former head of the Conservative Party Iain Duncan Smith asked, according to Daily Mail. "They shouldn’t come to the coronation," said senior Tory David Mellor in agreement. "They categorically shouldn’t come. They make money out of selling their family down the river. I think it should be made clear that the British people do not want them there," he said.

In addition, Mellor said, "If the couple did turn up," people "would be perfectly entitled to boo," adding, "They are a sad pair and there is no hope for them on their current course."

Historian and author Lady Antonia Fraser stated, "I hope they don't come because I want the King and Queen to be the center of attention. It worries me that if they come the cameras might waste time on them. They should stay holding hands in Hollywood."

According to a poll conducted for Daily Mail, almost half of the respondents think the couple should not be allowed to attend the coronation. Additionally, twice as many individuals as those who say they should be allowed to keep their status as Duke of Sussex think Prince Harry should be removed from the succession line and deprived of that title.

People on social media also slammed the royal couple after they were asked to stay away from Prince Harry's father King Charles' coronation. One user tweeted, "They probably won’t even be invited." Another user said, "They don’t care and they will not come."

One user said, "Going from suing for security to being labeled a security risk. What an interesting turn of events." One person tweeted, "Very good! They must agree or their thick face will no longer be covered by make up, designer clothes and whatnot."

Another user wrote, "If this is true, I am not at all surprised, especially after the Netflix series." Another user penned, "they shouldn't even be invited. stay in USA pair of traitors." One user commented, "The King needs to not invite them. I'm sure most of the UK doesn't want them back, and most of us Americans don't want them to return and ruin the King's coronation."

One user remarked, "I'm sure they will have something lined up then anyways. We all know how they love to try to steal the limelight when the focus is on someone in the royal family. I don't think they will attend, I think they will be catalogue-shopping for their next award to be delivered then."

One user quipped, "Well that "limelight" definitely won't include the emerald choker." "How could they even show their face," penned another user.
