Meghan Markle thought Prince Harry was 'egoistical' when he was late for their first date
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The much-anticipated docuseries of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has finally started streaming on Netflix. The first volume of ‘Harry & Meghan’ was released on December 8, giving out a plethora of details about the couple’s courtship, which was not known to the public earlier.
One such information was about their first date, which initially left Meghan reportedly thinking if Harry was egoistical. The location of the pair’s first date was 76 Dean Street, which is a part of Soho House – Members' Club in London. In an interview for the documentary, the Duchess of Sussex said while recalling, “You were late.”

She also revealed that the prince texted her stating, “I'm stuck in traffic, I'm so sorry, I am in traffic, I am sorry.” Harry pointed that he was “panicking, I was freaking out, I was so sweaty,” The Daily Mail reported. The mother-of-two then went on to say that while she waited for the Duke of Sussex, she thought, “So I was like, 'Oh, is this what he does? Got it. Like, this I'm not doing.’”
Meghan clarified that she first thought that Harry was “one of the guys who has so much of an ego that any girl would wait and sit around for 30 minutes for you. I was not interested in that.” However, her doubts soon got cleared when the 38-year-old “walked in”. Harry shared, “I was hot and sweaty and a red ball of mash.”
Meghan recounted how Harry was "genuinely like so embarrassed you were late," in one interview released as part of the Netflix docuseries. Later in another interview, Meghan added, “I left after an hour, and um, I told him that I had other plans.”
The two have also disclosed how they first met in the new Netflix program. Apparently, the first photo which Harry saw of Meghan was with a dog filter. He said, “Meghan and I met over Instagram. I was scrolling through my feed and someone who was a friend had this video of the two of them, like a Snapchat. Oh gosh, isn't that whole thing, it's got like doggy ears.”
“That was the first thing, ‘I was like who is that?’” he stated. Since the friend was common, Harry reportedly approached her to help him get in touch with Meghan. The former actress reportedly said, “She sent me an email. Between you and I thought you might want to know this being newly single and all. I put our snapchat on Instagram and Prince Haz follows me (he's a friend) he called me last night dying to meet you. I just might have to set you up.”
But Meghan apparently first preferred to check Harry’s alleged secret Instagram page. She explained, “So that's the thing when people say did you Google him, no. But I... that's your homework,” before adding, “You're like, hmmm, let me see what they're about, in their feed, not what someone else says about them but what they're putting out about themselves. That to me was the barometer.”
