LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The new Netflix docuseries showcasing Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s private lives created a lot of buzz even before its release. Now that the first three episodes of ‘Harry & Meghan’ have started to stream from December 8, people have been unable to keep themselves from diving into it.

In the new show, the Sussexes have reportedly spoken about their love story, reflecting on how they met, who proposed to whom, etc. But the revelations are fueling a new controversy as it has been claimed that the couple has changed their proposal story for the documentary, The Sun reported.

As per the Netflix show, Harry popped the question while they were enjoying an evening picnic. It was reportedly at a romantic candle-lit garden where the 38-year-old got down on one knee and proposed to the ex-actress. He disclosed, “In the North garden, being overlooked by the staff flats, I got 15 of those electric candles. ... Of course I got down on one knee. Of course I did.”

After the proposal, they also reportedly clicked a photo together, with Meghan’s dog in the frame too. Citing the Duke, The Sun added that “he ‘gave the game away’ by popping a bottle of champagne as she was 'greasing a chicken' before they headed outside.”

The proposal story has garnered appreciation but it has also been pointed out that Harry previously shared he asked the 41-year-old's hand in marriage in the kitchen. According to CNN, Harry told BBC One that he proposed to Meghan at the Nottingham cottage on a “standard, typical night” while roasting a chicken for dinner.

Meanwhile, Twitter was full of negative reactions after the release of the docuseries as a user tweeted, “The way @Netflix is doctoring and manipulating images to create vicious propaganda on behalf of Harry and Meghan Markle is scandalous. This misinformation is ultimately designed to spread hatred and to destroy lives. Stand up to it, my friends. Be outraged. Complaint. Resist.”

Another user shared, “Considering Prince Harry and Meghan left the Royal family & the UK as they did not want any publicity, they've done nothing but try to get publicity since,  Oprah interview, all the sh*t stories, now this bullsh*t Netflix, and he has a book on the way! pfff #HarryandMeghanNetflix.” “I’m watching the first Harry & Meghan crap-fest on Netflix - and it’s a complete pity party. They were filming themselves to camera from BEFORE they left the UK. Just shows how much they wanted revenge on their family from the very start. Check out Meghan’s terrible acting!” one tweet read.

A tweet read, “#HarryandMeghanNetflix Harry and Meghan We left the U.K. because we want privacy and security for our children AND Harry and Meghan Happily exploiting their children for Netflix 💰💰💰 Way to go!” Another tweet added, “People who want privacy to do not sell their lies repeatedly to the media, whether Oprah Winfrey or Netflix. She is a lying hypocrite and is manipulating the spoiled brat Hapless Harry,” another tweet added.
