Primavera Sound announces 2020 lineup with The Strokes, Tyler, the Creator, Bad Bunny, Beck, and Lana Del Rey
Primavera Sound, one of Europe's biggest music festivals, has just announced its lineup for 2020. This year's lineup features a staggering, diverse selection of popular international artistes, including The Strokes, Tyler, the Creator, Bad Bunny, Beck & Lana Del Rey. The 20th edition of the Primavera festival will be held from June 3 to June 7, 2020 at the Parc del Fòrum in Barcelona, Spain.
Besides these big names, the lineup for this year also includes popular and revered music acts like Pavement, The National, Massive Attack, Brockhampton, Bikini Kill, Bauhaus, Disclosure, Young Thug, Kacey Musgraves, Brittany Howard, Iggy Pop, Bill Callahan, Chromatics, Dinosaur Jr., Black Midi, King Krule, Yo La Tengo, Weyes Blood, Earl Sweatshirt, Jawbox, Kim Gordon, 100 gecs, Mica Levi, and many others. Primavera Sound has prided itself at always being at the forefront of organizing successful, entertaining musical events. The Barcelona-based music promotion company has, since its modest beginnings at the start of the new millennium, continuously developed and displayed a strong commitment to the music that people love. And in the past 19 editions of the festival, spectators from all walks of life and even different generations have enjoyed the live musical experience that the various stages of Primavera Sound have to offer.
The previous editions of Primavera Sound have always catered to the tastes of the masses, and consequently, the musical lineups have invariably been strongly influenced by rock, pop and the underground tendencies of dance music. Some of the famous artistes that have graced their stages in the past include Arctic Monkeys, Pixies, Arcade Fire, Queens of the Stone Age, Nine Inch Nails, Kendrick Lamar, Neil Young, Sonic Youth, Portishead, Radiohead, Tame Impala, Pet Shop Boys, Lou Reed, Patti Smith, James Blake, Cat Power, Public Enemy, Grinderman, Devo, Enrique Morente, The White Stripes, LCD Soundsystem, Swans, Melvins, De La Soul, Marianne Faithfull, Mazzy Star, Blur and the Wu-Tang Clan.
OS Primavera Sound, the festival's Portuguese counterpart, has been held in the city of Oporto since 2012 and has grown to be incredibly successful as well. The Portuguese chapter of the festival will take place a week after the Barcelona edition, and celebrated artistes such as Antony and the Johnsons, Interpol, FKA Twigs, Death Cab for Cutie, Haim, Slowdive, Suede, The Flaming Lips, Rufus Wainwright, Wilco, Beach House, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, and Sigur Rós have already played on the stages of the Parque da Cidade.
