'Power' Season 6 Finale: Why is Episode 15 delayed and when will it air next?
While fans wait with bated breath for the twisted, convoluted ending of the final season of the Starz crime drama, 'Power', Super Bowl LIV seems to have foiled their plans. Coinciding with the air time of the show, Super Bowl LIV, the biggest sporting event in the American calendar, is airing on January 2, resulting in the Season 6 finale to be delayed by a week.
Even though Episode 15 managed to get leaked online, the finale will only air next Sunday, January 9, at its usual time slot on the network. While it will air on Starz TV at 8 pm, viewers subscribed to the Starz app will be able to watch it from midnight on Sunday ahead of the TV broadcast. For fans in the UK, the season finale will drop on Netflix on Monday, February 10, at 8 am.
The official synopsis of the upcoming finale reads: "When Ghost is announced as Lt. Governor it gives him a solid win and one step closer to a fully legitimate world. He soon discovers one of his many enemies actively carrying out a plan that changes his life forever."
The teaser trailer of the episode features clips of the Ghost revolving whom the action is unfolding. A montage of the number of times the Ghost has betrayed someone is shown before it ends with the line "Witness the final betrayal".
This is followed by Ghost looking into the mirror and staring right at his bloodstained vest. the promo nears its end with a voiceover saying: "When we met, who did you think I was going to be?" In the final moments of the teaser, the sound of a safety catch coming off on a gun, soon followed by a bullet before the screen goes blank. But this isn't shocking for the entire fandom as the episode had managed to leak online just days ahead of its scheduled air time.
Fans, however, are far from pleased with the final twist in the tale with which the whodunnit drama concludes. Taking it to social media, they are now calling for a remake of the finale.
"They better change the damn ending to Power because if what I’ve seen is legit then it’s one of the worst endings I’ve ever seen," said a fan.
Another wrote, “I hope they change the ending to Power, I hated what I’ve just seen.”
Writing how the ending doesn't do the show justice, a fan tweeted: "I really hope Power changes the ending because that leaked final episode I saw was underwhelming and was a poor ending to an awesome series. Please I hope they have a trick up their sleeves.”
Warnings for the rapper 50 Cent who's behind the show's creation also poured in, with fans claiming: "It’s gonna be bad for ya out here if you air what leaked.”
The 'Power' Season 6 finale will air on Sunday, January 9, at 8 pm ET only on Starz TV.
