A rising country music star just joined Yellowstone's spinoff ‘Dutton Ranch’ but not how fans expected
Throughout its five seasons, 'Yellowstone' has time and again featured musicians in recurring roles, and this pattern has even extended to the rest of the franchise. Fans of the show will readily remember Ryan Bingham, who played the character of brooding cowboy Walker throughout the five seasons. Moreover, season five of 'Yellowstone' also featured Lainey Wilson as Abby. In an interesting turn of events, Country musician Morgan Wade has now joined the cast of 'Dutton Ranch' on Paramount+ and will be appearing in the recurring role of Carol, who happens to be a bartender at the local watering hole in Rio Paloma, Texas, and observes everything and everyone.
'Dutton Ranch' will debut exclusively on Paramount+ on May 15, 2026, with a two-episode premiere, followed by new episodes dropping weekly. There are a total of nine episodes in the debut season of 'Dutton Ranch'. The plot of the series follows Kelly Reilly's Beth Dutton and Cole Hauser's Rip Wheeler as they leave the Montana of 'Yellowstone' behind and settle in Texas. Away from the ghosts of all the events that went down at the original Dutton Ranch in Montana, Rip and Beth will be seen struggling to establish a peaceful future for themselves. Nevertheless, the path towards peace is beset with violence as the duo will be forced to take stock of the reality around them. Their primary enemy is a merciless rival ranch that would go to any extent to protect its own empire.
Alongside Reilly and Hauser, Anette Bening and Ed Harris will also be seen in the upcoming series. Finn Little, who was previously seen as Carter, the little child protege of Beth and Rip in the original series, will also appear in the upcoming Paramount Network series. The rest of the cast includes Jai Courtney, Juan Pablo Raba, Marc Menchaca, Natalie Alyn Lind, and J.R. Villarreal. Moreover, in addition to Wade, other musicians are joining the cast, including Wade's touring partner Bryan, Shane Smith, The Saints, and Isaac Hoskins. Wade rose to fame following the release of her debut album 'Reckless' in 2021. The album went on to chart on Billboard and was also referred to by Rolling Stone as the year's Best Americana Album. Since then, Wade has been steadily working on her music and has released the follow-up albums 'Psychopath', 'Obsessed', and the latest album 'The Party Is Over (recovered).'
