Enigmatic Australian pop star Sia has now released a studio version of her brand-new track, 'Saved My Life'. The song, which was co-written by the English pop star Dua Lipa, first premiered 24 hours earlier during a comedy fundraiser on May 1 and is now being officially released to aid coronavirus relief work throughout the world.

'Saved My Life' is a heartfelt track that talks about the singer Sia waiting for someone to come and save her. The chorus goes "Someone must have sent you to save me tonight / I know that in darkness I have found my light."

It was co-written by Sia, Dua Lipa and Greg Kurstin who also helped produce the song. The new single also marks yet another collaboration between Sia and Dia Lupa — the duo had famously teamed up in the past with the superstar producer Diplo to form the supergroup LSD just over a year ago.

Sia's new song was possibly a surprise spur-of-the-moment decision — it was released with practically no prior fanfare or promotional hype, and better yet, it's aimed at bringing urgent financial aid to the people who need it the most.

Sia first performed it live during the close of the virtual COVID is No Joke comedy festival, which was held online on May 1 in order to raise funds for health workers who were battling the deadly coronavirus on the frontlines.

The nine-time Grammy-nominated artiste Sia sang the track accompanied by only a keyboard, and in keeping with her mysterious public persona, was partially hidden by a light fixture throughout.

It was released to streaming music platforms soon after her live rendition, with all proceeds from the song's sales going to benefit Americares and Core Response. You can check out her live performance of the song here below — it starts just before the one-hour mark.

Fans online were appreciating the song's message and also the motivation behind the prompt release of the song. Sia's followers were calling her the "Queen of saving" and also loved the new song, saying that it was "a beautiful masterpiece."

Others tweeted, "Well done Sia and Dua Lipa," commending both pop stars for their charitable efforts.

One fan tweeted, "Thank you Sia for this surprise! This is such an emotional song! You saved our lives!!! I love you so much!!!" while another listener said, "Beautiful picture, beautiful song, such a generous gift from an amazing lady."

Another moved fan who has evidently had a history of self-harming posted a picture of their beloved Sia tattoo, along with a heartwarming message: "My biggest dream is that someday you know that you really saved my life more than once. That your music was there when no one else was and I really appreciate it."

Kudos to Sia and Dua Lipa for doing their part in helping the world and its inhabitants during this difficult time for our planet.
