BROOKLYN, NEW YORK CITY: A 42-year-old woman was brutally mugged in a Brooklyn hotel, police said on Tuesday, August 30. She was knocked unconscious during the robbery and the thief got away with her handbag containing a $175 Michael Kors watch.

Hoping someone will recognize the suspect, detectives released surveillance photos of the perpetrator on Tuesday. He was described as having dark skin and is between 24 and 35 years of age. He was last seen carrying a blue bag and wearing a green Yankees baseball cap, black jeans, black boots, and glasses, police said.

The woman had arranged a meeting with the suspect just before noon on Sunday, August 28, at the Quality Inn on Third Ave near 44th St in Sunset Park, according to the police. Police said that when they first met, the man attacked the woman and stole her bag, which contained the watch. As the two fought, the robber repeatedly kicked the victim, knocking her unconscious. After that, he fled carrying her handbag, according to surveillance footage that was later found by police.

The lady was found by EMS at the hotel and was later taken by ambulance to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn where she remained in a critical but stable condition. The suspect is still on the loose.

Meanwhile, another such incident has come ot light. A clerk at an adult video store in Brooklyn was hit on the head with a baseball bat after attempting to stop a man from stealing lingerie on Sunday, August, 28, leaving police officers with scrapes and bruises as they tried to catch the violent thief. Police said he was stealing lingerie from Video City around 9:30 am at 956 Third Avenue in Sunset Park. The thief beat the store clerk with a baseball bat and got into a fight with a police officer who tried to arrest him and fled. The store clerk and a police officer suffered minor injuries, a police spokesperson said.
