'I said, why not?' Pitbull admits he encouraged John Travolta to embrace the bald look
MIAMI, FLORIDA: Pitbull, 42, appeared on SiriusXM's ‘The Howard Stern Show’ on Tuesday, May 2, and shared the conversation he had with John Travolta before the latter shaved his head. During the show, Stern asked the rapper “Are you the guy that got Travolta to shave his head?” In response, Pitbull laughed before saying, “I didn't get him to shave his head but he did ask me if he could shave his head, and I said, ‘Why not? Absolutely!’”
“I think Travolta looks great now,” said host Howard Stern who was reportedly in Miami this week to launch SiriusXM's new studios in Miami. Pitbull was one of the Florida-based guests who welcomed the longtime radio show host to the Magic City, People reports.

‘What I'm going to look like when I get older’
During his conversation with Stern, Pitbull recalled how Travolta was present at the venue when the musician cemented his handprints outside of Grauman’s Chinese Theater. “He came out to speak on my behalf. What an honor, right? Having one of the biggest, best actors in Hollywood history to come out,” he said. And that's what he asked me, "Hey what do you think about this?’” the rapper shared. “Now I know what I'm going to look like when I get older,” he jokingly added.
Pitbull also mentioned that he is thankful for his friendship with Travolta. “I love to sit with him and just have conversations [about] everything he's been through in life. It's amazing advice,” the ‘International Love’ hitmaker told Stern. “[It's] powerful and priceless to be able to hang out and shoot the s*** with Travolta,” he added.
'Maybe it's time to do it'
Travolta first revealed his new look back in 2019 by sharing a photo of his hair transformation on Instagram on the occasion of New Year’s Day. In the picture, the actor could be seen wearing a tuxedo and holding a glass of martini while standing next to his daughter Ella Bleu. “I hope everyone had a great New Year!” he captioned the post at the time.
The ‘Pulp Fiction’ star later thanked Pitbull for encouraging him to master the hair transformation. “A good friend, Armando Perez, Pitbull — he lives his life like this, he would send pictures of me, I have all my hair, and he'd superimpose no hair and say, ‘I prefer this,’ so I thought… Maybe it's time to do it,’” Travolta told Extra at the time. He also added, “It's been a lot easier. Life's simpler,” while speaking about his bald look.
