Pink tweets 'I’ve never really depended on my looks' on aging gracefully, Kelly Clarkson nods in agreement
Besides being two extremely successful pop divas, it appears that the singers Pink and Kelly Clarkson have a lot in common. It turns out that both artistes were in agreement in wanting to age the natural way, after sharing their notes on the subject on social media. Clarkson did mention, however, that she wouldn't be doing one particular thing the way Pink had envisioned it.
Earlier on Monday, Pink had tweeted a series of notes-to-self that talked about embracing her aging process gracefully and rejecting the need to alter her appearance as she got older.
"Dear Me, you're getting older," began Pink's candid letter to herself. "I see lines. Especially when you smile. Your nose is getting bigger... You look (and feel) weird as you get used to this new reality. But your nose looks like your kids, and your face wrinkles where you laugh. And yeah you idiot.. u smoked. [sic]"
The singer has been then voicing her opinions on appearances in the entertainment industry. "Every once in a while you consider altering your face, and then you watch a show where you want to see what the person is feeling... and their face doesn't move. I cannot get behind it. I just can't," concluded Pink, who also said that she wanted her children to know what she looked like when she was angry.
"I’m fortunate because I’ve never really depended on my looks," read Pink's last tweet of the series. "I’ve decided that my talent and my individuality is far more important than my face. So get on board cause I am about to AGE THE OL FASHIONED WAY (in a tutu ruling s*** at 30 mph 100 ft in the air over 40) yasssssssss."
The singer Kelly Clarkson clearly felt the same way and echoing similar sentiments, she retweeted Pink's statement saying, “I feel you …. except for, you know, the flying through the air thing."
The 'American Idol' winner added, "You know what, I’ll keep holding it down on the ground for us and you keep the air safe. I’ve always enjoyed teamwork."
It's well-known that Kelly Clarkson and Pink have always been mutual fans of one another. Besides being two extremely talented, firebrand performers, the pair even did a small set together at the 2017 American Music Awards.
Long may this public display of sisterhood support continue!
