Piers Morgan bans 'whiny little brats' Harry and Meghan from 'Good Morning Britain'
On Tuesday, April 21, ‘Good Morning Britain’ show host, Piers Morgan took a dig at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle yet again as he called them ‘whiny little brats’ and banned them ‘for the foreseeable future’ from his show. The latest rant from the broadcaster came after the Sussexes cut ties with the four major UK tabloids.
The former royal couple who is currently living in Los Angeles, California, with their little son Archie had sent a letter to the editors of the Mail, The Sun, The Express, and The Mirror, the Sussexes said they will no longer "offer themselves up as currency for an economy of clickbait and distortion."
“There will be no corroboration and zero engagement,” noted the letter the couple, who stepped down from senior royal duties in late March had sent to the editors of the four outlets. They blamed intense and unfair media scrutiny as one of the reasons for their decision.
However, their decision did not go down well with many including Morgan who compared the couple to the likes of Prince Phillip, who recently sent a very heartwarming message to key workers helping across the UK to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic. “Meanwhile in Hollywood, there’s some bloke called Harry…,” the 55-year-old television personality said as he started his rant against the younger son and daughter-in-law of late lady Diana and Prince Charles.
“I’m comparing and contrasting the class of Prince Phillip, which has been mirrored by the class of the Queen whose birthday is today. These whiny little brats in Hollywood, banning newspapers, leaking details in the court of all their texts to her father who is in his 70s, has underlying health conditions probably living in fear of Covid-19,” Morgan continued. “But they think right now is a good time to go ahead with legal action, drag all the mud out – not a single part of them thought, this is not a good time,” he added as he held a picture of the pair.
However, when Morgan’s co-host Susanna Reid tried to defend the Sussexes as she pointed out, “They did go and distribute food”, this left the father-of-four fuming. “Oh please, why do you defend these people?” To which Reid replied, “I’m just pointing out that they’re not just complaining about the press, they’re trying to do their bit.” However, Morgan then brushed over the story, saying, “Let’s not talk about Harry and Meghan, I can’t be a***d.”
“On the Queen’s birthday, imagine starting their own war with the media, in the middle of the coronavirus crisis, it’s staggering. Shut up, go away, seriously go away, Harry and Meghan. Go and sit in your mansion, nobody cares,” he added.
Later when he was asked by his the 49-year-old co-presenter if they should not mention the name of the pair for the rest of the week, to which Piers instant agreed and affirmed. “Yes, you know what great idea, they banned the newspapers, today we’re banning Meghan and Harry from Good Morning Britain for the foreseeable future. You’re done.”
Earlier, Morgan had slammed Harry for accusing media of exaggerating the UK coronavirus crisis. He deemed the 35-year-old as a "pampered little Duke" for saying things were “better than we are led to believe through certain corners of the media."
