Peter Andre backs Leonardo DiCaprio's age gap romances as singer, 50, married to Emily MacDonagh, 33
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Leonardo DiCaprio has received an unexpected ally supporting his alleged preference for romances with huge age gaps. ‘Mysterious Girl’ crooner Peter Andre, 50, recently took to his exclusive column for a leading magazine to defend romances with huge age gaps citing his own marriage to wife Emily MacDonagh, 33, who is 17 years his junior.
Taking to the column, the ‘Flava’ singer wrote, “Leonardo DiCaprio was linked to yet another woman last week – Maya Jama. Although it has since been denied, I do think that would be one hell of a power couple,” before declaring, “Although she’s 28, 20 years his junior, you can't help but admit that Leo looks awesome.”

‘I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!’ alum then reminisced in the OK! column, “As you all know, Emily and I have been together for nearly 11 years and have known each other for 13 years.” The father of five then famously said, “Even though she is younger than me, I don’t think age matters as we are so happy together!”
This came in the wake of the rumors of the ‘Titanic’ star dating the ‘Love Island’ host Maya Jama which surfaced last week. A source close to the superstar and the radio DJ told The Sun, “Maya and Leo are in regular contact and have been on a string of dates." Referring to their previous relationships, the source further added, "They have both recently come out of long-term relationships so neither of them are rushing into anything — they are having fun and seeing how it goes.” However, according to Daily Mail, the ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ star has since denied the claim.
Leonardo DiCaprio's dating history
After appearing in 'Titanic', DiCaprio’s love life gained attention. Two years after the film's premiere, at the age of 24, he began dating supermodel Gisele Bundchen, who was 18 at the time. She was 23 when they ended their five-year relationship in 2004, and a year later, he began dating model Bar Rafaeli when she was 20. Again, they were together for five years before calling it quits in 2010 when Rafaeli reached 25. This commenced on a similar dating trajectory that has continued to the present. He dated the 23-year-old actress Blake Lively briefly in 2011 before moving on with the 22-year-old model Erin Heatherton.
Then the ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ star moved on to German model Toni Garrn, then 22, and were together until they broke up in 2014. He dated the 25-year-old actress Kelly Rohrbach in 2015; however, they broke up after she turned 26. DiCaprio began dating actress Nina Agdal, who he had dated for two years from 2016, and ended the relationship later when she was 25. ‘The Revenant’ star was then in a five-year relationship with Camila Morrone until she turned 25 in 2022. The actor was then rumored to be dating the supermodel Gigi Hadid, 27, for a brief period, before getting linked to Maya Jama, 28.
'He wants to ditch this image'
On February 16, a source close to the ‘Romeo + Juliet’ star informed Daily Mail that the Oscar-winning actor is not pleased with the rumors of him dating only women below 25 years. The source said, “He is looking for something more mature in the relationship department. It is just ridiculous because he cannot go anywhere without being linked to the youngest beautiful woman there,” before adding, “He wants to ditch this image once and for all and he is really bothered that this continues to follow him. Leo wants something like he had with Camila, something real.” The source also reaffirmed, “Leo is very single right now and he is not keen on the hype suggesting that he is seeking out these very young women.”
In 2022, a source close to DiCaprio told The New York Post, “By the time girls reach 25, they’re looking for more — they’re looking to get married and settle down. That is not what Leo wants. He does not want a family and does not want to be around women who may press him for that,” before adding, “The minute a girl meets him, the clock is ticking. If she gets too old, in a couple of years, she is gone. If she gets too close, in a couple of years, she is gone.” they conclude by saying, “He’s gotten older but his taste has not gotten any older.”
