Spoilers for ‘Pennyworth’ Season 2 Episode 6

The makers of ‘Pennyworth’ had already made it clear that they’ll discuss Martha Kane’s (Emma Paetz) pregnancy in the “next chapter” of Season 2. Whether this would mean the arrival of a baby Bruce Wayne is yet to be seen. Fans were hoping to get some indications of her pregnancy and the makers certainly did not disappoint them. In the sixth episode of Season 2, we see Martha talking to Prime Minister Aziz (Ramon Tikaram) about an important topic when suddenly we see Martha running up to the bathroom and throwing up rigorously.

As she comes out of the bathroom, Aziz asks if she’s alright but because this is the second time she has thrown up since morning. Martha smiles and says there’s nothing to worry about. This is the first indication that fans got when it comes to Martha’s pregnancy.

And the mystery person is... Patricia Wayne

Besides Martha, the only person to know about her pregnancy is Patricia Wayne (Salóme Gunnarsdóttir), sister of Thomas Wayne. We see Martha entering her home and seeing Patricia drawing art on a naked man’s body. They talk to each other and Patricia asks about her day. Martha says it’s been an awful day and she doesn’t feel right healthwise. Patricia suddenly asks, “Have you told him (Thomas) about it yet?” Martha asks, “Told him about what?” to which she answers, “That you are pregnant.”

Martha is left stunned by Patricia’s observation and wonders how does she know about the pregnancy. Thomas’s sister says that it is clearly showing on her skin which is glowing more than ever.

However, Martha doesn’t know if the child is a boy or a girl. Maybe, Patricia knows about it too. The mystery surrounding the baby is getting bigger and bigger because we don’t know about the father. Also, how the hell did Patricia make such a wild guess about Martha’s pregnancy?

On the other hand, Lucius Fox has also got to know about the affair between Thomas and Martha.

Alfred gets reunited with his mother

Alfred is also going through a lot in his life. He finally breaks up with his girlfriend Sandra Onslow (Harriet Slater) and tells her the truth that he is leaving the country without her. After seeing her son’s condition, Mary Pennyworth (Dorothy Atkinson) agrees to accompany him to America. However, it will not be easy for him to feel the UK. Queen and Prime Minister task him for getting Lucius Fox out of the Raven Society’s headquarters and he successfully does the work with the help of Dave Boy (Ryan Fletcher) and Martha Kane.

The situations are getting bleak for Pennyworth because he is now tied with some really powerful people and not to mention, the CIA is showing some keen interest in Pennyworth.

On the other hand, PM and Queen know about his “one night stand” with Melanie Troy (Jessica De Gouw), wife of Captain Gulliver Troy (James Purefoy). Alfred has notified her about the situation to Melanie and asked her to leave Gulliver as soon as possible.

Will Gulliver get to know the truth about Melanie’s affair with Alfred? It will be interesting to see how Gulliver would react to the news.

‘Pennyworth’ returns to EPIX for a new episode on Sunday.
